I've been using both and personally what suits my needs best is windows, or pc if you like. Mac is more for people doing very much creating, it may not have the most power but it definetly has the best software. PC on the other hand is more if you're interested in gaming, browsing, coding or doing school/work stuff. However this does not by any means mean that you can't create stuff on PC or not do school stuff on Mac. Don't fight, they have their own purposes. I speak of my own experience as both Mac and PC user.

This is hos it goes: Adobe Premier is made for Windows and it's optimized for Windows If you want to use Mac, the best way to go is using Final Cut Pro it's optimized for MacOS and its optimized for it (it outperforms every PC laptop!

i don't know if you ever checked Dell laptops, but you're pretty much able to configure everything on them. A Precision 5520 can have 5 different models of CPUs for example, so i guess it's interesting to know what model they use

Regarding your PC vs. Mac theory - Macbook Pro 2015, even fully customized does have crappy dedicated GPU. that's what creates the major difference. Dell refreshes their laptop line way more often (every year there's a new line of Intel's CPUs, Dell upgrades every line with newest CPUs, Apple does this every other year. So yeah, if you're craving for better hardware, PC's definitely the way. Also, Macbook performs absolutely awesome if you're rendering in Final Cut Pro, it was designed for Apple's hardware. Even Casey still edits in FCP only for this reason. If you seek a beast laptop, look for something with i7 7700 CPU, GTX 1060 or 1070 or even 1080 GPU, 16-32GBs of RAM and only SSDs. Include Intel's Optane into the mix in the near future and you'll have a beast of an laptop, that was BORN for editing. Trust me ;) And about your 15k GFX - why don't you make a giveaway of the old 5d mk4? Or of the old Sony. I bet there are tons of filmmakers and photographers in your audience who'll kill for these cameras, even if they have faulty mic input etc. Think about it ;)

leaving the mac export on the blanket, next to the pc that is on a stand, doesn't help either. mac gpu's easily go bad with extensive editing even if the fans are not blocket by insulating material, so the test was not a good one, for me. i had 2 macbook pros go gpu belly up, and 2 imacs as well, and i kept them cool. now i built my own mac from pc parts and it works great in the software update limitations i have, and keep the windows there as well for gaming. the process of editing being fast from start to finish, not just in the export. i worked on adobe, before switching on fcpx, but the constant crashes when i forgot to save, because i was in the middle of an edit ideea, killed the platform for me. when i started to edit in fcpx i desperately searched the save button, to find out it is not required :D even if it were a reduction from 5 to 3 minutes in export time, from fcpx to adobe - that simple save thing would make the wait worth it, and does win tens of minutes for me, if not hours, and a lot of swearing, by not having to redo things. not to mention the update that you have to make the day you are in the rush of your life, and have no way to cancel the hour and a half update process. there are a lot of comparisons, it is no fight, for youtube and vlogging, FCPX is the best option, apple macs, are a little behind on things, but still offer the better all around sollution.

barthezzo Yeah, if he had shiny new things syndrome, I would've recommended something like Capture One's raw processing software first. Fab for models like his gf. That's what -- $300? And it really helps you get your best out of what you already have. Or if he likes pains in the arse that produce good with good results, one of the Foveon sensor cams. Smashing colour. Beyond any of that, he really already had top notch stuff. From the Leicas to the Canons. I think he even had some Sony's and Batis lenses for a bit. All high end. So for him, it really is learning & experimenting that would yield the best results.

Jon, try using Final Cut Pro on your MacBook. It will be much much faster than Premiere Pro on the Dell. All the people that say Premiere is better obviously have never used Final Cut for any length of time. FCPx is so so much faster than Premiere on a Mac. You can add tons of pug ins to it, so when you have it set up the way you like it, it will have more tools in an easier suite to use. All the tech users who actually know what they're talking about (MKBHD, Unbox Therapy, Jonathan Morrison, Austin Evans, Karl Conrad, just to name a few..) all use Apple systems with Final Cut Pro X. Plus you can keep that beautiful lightweight and stylish MacBook.

Alright. So you said in this vlog "don't tell us what we do good, tell us what we can do better". First off, you're looking good in the new clothes. Second I've on my second Dell PC in 9 years. In that time other people I know have had their computers crap out on them and they have all owned them way less time than me. Third, here's what you can do better. Love Bennie in the vlogs but sometimes when he swings that camera back and forth between people talking its way too fast and a bit dizzying. Also some of the up and down movements like when he was checking​ out that Hasselblad mounting system. Can you slow those movements down a bit in post or smooth them out in action, or both?

Question: Since you're doing 4 vlogs per week, have you thought about leveraging your network to highlight other creators work? I think i stumbled on your vlog while researching camera reviews....and eventually i settled on buying a full frame Canon 1Ds. Ya many may say you don't need such overkill a camera...however, the tools of an artist usually only increase in quality(and price) as they mature, and well, you only live once, why not have the best, who wants mediocre? You can do things with the more quality equipment than the shit setups are able to....like slow motion panning during a time lapse shot....love it Benjie! You guys are such a joy to watch. As for the PC....the Lenovo ThinkPad series of workstation systems are truly durable and powerful, fully scalable to suit your needs, the first choice by most highly successful businesses out there.

You may already know, but you can use the Sigma 18-35 with the GH5 with a Metabones Speedbooster. It brings in much more light so you can shoot with a lower ISO and therefore less noise.

The volgs becoming worse 1. that camera guy agreeing with anything that Jon is saying like a muppet (annoying comments) 2. first part of the video was really shaky - I thought less videos meant better quality..... 3. editing is weird - all different styles mixed together that does not make sense. clearly the S1 was better and it seem the guys lost the vibe.

The Simone that's what I've been saying. The chemistry is not there for me like it used to be before. Months ago I used to be happy to wake up in the morning to see what jon have posted but now his vlogs don't interest me anymore. I don't know it's like something missing but I'm happy his channel is growing been a subscriber for a long time now.
