Game Recap: Mavericks 117, Thunder 116

The Mavericks overcame a 17-point comeback (8:25 in Q3) and defeated the Thunder, 117-116, in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals to win the series 4-2. Luka Doncic led the Mavericks with his seventh career Playoff triple double as he totaled 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists while Kyrie Irving added 22 points. Dereck Lively II totaled 12 points and a Playoff-best 15 rebounds as Derrick Jones Jr. added 22 points on 8-13 shooting. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with a Playoff career-high 36 points, along with eight assists as Jalen Williams totaled 22 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists.

Para mí, anoche fue un partidazo en todo lo alto, los Mavs todo el partido por detrás en el marcador pero sin irse del partido excepto cuando los Thunders se van de 17 puntos pero los Mavs con un Donćic fantástico en el triple sobre todo, Irving ,Jones y Lively en rebote y machacando el aro , empiezan a remontar a final del tercer cuarto. El último cuarto siguen los Thunders por delante controlando por 8,10 puntos de ventaja , y a falta de 8 minutos sale Gilgeous que mete todo lo que tira y vuelve a escaparse por arriba de los 10 puntos ,aunque no contaban con un Donćic que revoluciona el partido pese al arbitraje en su contra bastante descarado, entonces llega ese momento en el que Dallas se pone arriba de 2 puntos a falta de 3' y medio; de aquí hasta el final fue superigualado, cuando Dallas lo tenía prácticamente ganado pitan un tiro libre por defensa ilegal , una canasta de 2 y un triple de Gilgeous, pero aparece Donćic y Washington a 2 ' ' del final lanzando un triple para ganar con falta de Gilgeous y 3 tiros, mete el primero ( empata) mete el segundo ( 1 arriba ) y el tercero lo tira a fallar ya que el entrenador se lo dice ,coge rebote Holdgren,pasa a Williams que tira desde mitad de su campo y no toca ni aro, Dallas se clasificaba para la final de Conferencia Oeste. Esta madrugada Denver- Minnesota, el que gane jugará la final con Dallas. Por el Este , 7mo partido New York-Indiana, el que gane jugará la final de Conferencia Este contra Boston.

it's clearly explained by the ref, Since it was challenged, they go by the book...That said maybe they wrongfully called a foul on SGA touching ball first, but then during the review they did see the foul on the arm before the ball was released.

Irving a no show most of the series. No problem The role guys are covering him. Primary hero besides Luka (Wahington) does not show up in this one. No problem, Irving suddenly appears. The spread in numbers is extremely balanced. The Mavs focus in past was Luka. It was not close to enough. They throw away some great role players to get Irving but the 2 studs made an even worst team. They finally figure it out=give minutes too ALL players and change the roles of Luka+Irving to blend into a complete/balanced "team" system. They obviously saw how good they play (as a team) without Luka. But continued to use Luka same as usual when he returned to the lineup. Last 30 or so games this year, they start to finally find a way to change Luka's role in the team system. The result was mostly the best Mavs we have seen for so many years. At the same time, we saw some inconsistencies/lapses back to bad old ways. We could not know what will happen come Playoffs. Either they fail and still have not nailed it down right or they are given the opportunity to rise and prove it is right. Clippers series was a tough adversity challenge to prove it. Come OKC, the confidence of the proof has them playing at their best. Mavs have a solid chance at a Title if they continue to play this strong team system at a high confidence level. As for OKC, this is not the typical bright future type the analysts are always wrong about. This OKC team is a contender already. They met a potential title winner at the wrong time but expect OKC to be contenders for a long time and expect a title coming soon enough. Two teams that can beat the East but one had to be eliminated. A shame really. Excellent series by both.
