The Nashville Predators visited Pittsburgh to take on the Penguins Monday night. Pittsburgh came out firing on all cylinders. The Penguins had 20 shots on net in the 1st period. Sidney Crosby started the scoring for the Penguins. After a goal that was disallowed from Michael Bunting, Bryan Rust Passed Bunting the puck from behind the net. Still, on the power play, Bunting shot the puck on the net. It trickled through the Nashville goalie but not over the line. Laying loose in the blue paint, Crosby leaped from behind the net on the far side to wack it in. Shortly after Erik Karlsson fired a slap shot from the blue line to give the Penguins a 2-0 lead. The Penguins had a second disallowed goal by Kris Letang later in the 1st. Gustav Nyquist put Nashville on the board early in the 2nd. But minutes later Lars Eller pulled two defenders to him in the offensive zone and was still able to dish the puck to Reilly Smith in the high slot. Smith picked his head up and scored the Penguin's third goal. Before the period was over, Filip Forsberg brought the Predators within one. Emil Bemstrom scored early in the 3rd to seal the deal for the Penguins with a final score of 4-2.
