I really like the theories but I think I need to point out that the third one has an issue. As an artist I can tell you that when you work on a big illustration/digital painting like the one that teases the dlc, some if not most professionals will start the colouring process by working in black and white to set the values of the piece in place. Only later will they work with actually color. Color theory is kinda hard to explain, but work with me here. My theory is that the artist left her in black and white because she stands out more without color and the character's actual color palette might distract more than help the piece. For example if her color palette is on the warm side she wouldn't stand out as much as she does against the golden Freddy statue. It might also be a question of how the colour in that environment would behave. For example something like warm grey in a bright red background won't be perceived as grey but as a blue-ish color. Sometimes the real color and the color we perceive it to be, isn't the same. I think that maybe this was a way for the artist to stylise this phenomena, taking advantage of the cooler feel that the grey gives the character contrasting with the warmth of the statue

True. Though, as mat said, color is a VERY important aspect in fnaf. Eye colors, themed colors, you name it. So it feels like they wouldn't make a color stand out without it being thematically important or important in general. There are MANY cases where color was a key detail in figuring out lore. Hell, in FNAF 4, it even got down to VERY slight color ID changes, where two different colors used were so similar, it would be nearly impossible to notice there was a difference.

When you take a look at the image, if you increase the saturation as well as brightness, it will reveal that there is some colour on the rim lighting of the girl, and that she is in fact strawberry blonde with a pale blue shirt. Since she is the focal point of the poster, it is key that the lighting suggests this. Not only that, but using greyscale for shadows and only adding colour tends to look the best, that’s why those little bits on her shoes have colour, because they are lit up. The same can be said with everything else that has colour in the image (other than the title card) there is just bits of light hitting it.

Thinking about the theory regarding the Ruin DLC, it harkens back to MatPat's first ever theory about FNAF 1, way back when he was comparing it to the shootings in Aurora, CO. Back then, he thought that FNAF was the story of a serial killer, trapped in his own nightmare for all eternity, forced to live out the horror of what he had wrought over and over again. Now, all these years later, in a way he might be right.
