Damn I remember when the revelation of “the spring-lock suit failed on William because it was in a puddle of water” was a big deal. Now we’re in a four-part timeline series about an entire family affair and a killer’s consciousness being preserved through technology. Unless the Mandela effect is at work, lol.

Former security officer. I can confirm that we are contracted to watch abandoned commercial property overnight. I had a job for about 2 weeks watching the parking lot of a Hilton hotel that they were preparing to tear down for some reason, but yeah, working security does a lot more than just put you behind a gate or a bunch of monitors. You have to patrol (every 30 mins or every 1, depends on the contract) and if you're not an "armed security guard" then you can't even have pepper spray to protect yourself. A very crappy job for many reasons, but it is the perfect job for these games, now that I think about it. The lack of the need to patrol is covered at the start because of the animatronics roaming at night.

As far as the dates on FNAF2 go, it very well could be that Jeremy is the last employee before it closes down only for Mike to pick up the job years later. It’s a logical leap, but it’s possible that the reason these long closed restaurants suddenly needed security guards was only in anticipation for Fazbear Frights. Whoever was building the attraction possibly wanted to get their hands on more pieces of Fazbear history and so needed someone to guard the locations until they could get their hands on the animatronics.

Hebrews 12:14 Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. Acts 3:19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, James 2:24,26 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. John 3:16 'For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 3:19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.

I like to think back to the release of Fnaf 1. Sure, the odor part supports the Mike Afton is the security guard theory, but all that lore can only have come later in the series. No way Scott was like: Okay so these animatronics are haunted because they were killed by a murderer, whose son found out about the experimenting on children of his father who was then scooped apart, filled with a mess of wires and the spirit of his dead sister kept alive because of this remnant stuff, so he's essentially a walking corpse which is why he has an odor.

Not only is MatPat making this more intriguing of him actually putting out a very fleshed out timeline of FNAF, but he is also still keeping us engaged on telling his own stories that actually may be canon to the actual lore. Especially the plot points and certain characters that are still very complicated like the Mediocre Melodies for example.

So glad I waited until the quadrilogy was complete! =) Coming back to this video, I do have one question: In Sister Location, there's that one night where Michael is trapped in a spring-lock suit. He's stuck there until other workers can find him and get him out. But, wait... if SL is just Michael going back to the underground bunker for a few nights - who are these workers? How do they have access to this place when Michael had to rely on a secret contingency plan in order to find it? Yeah, I know, even Matt said his timeline wasn't perfect. I didn't even remember this until I watched someone else's video about the FNAF timeline. Just wondering if there could be an explanation for this curiosity.

lol no. Mat's barely even close. He goes to try and say some games take place in 2070 for crying out loud. Special Delivery which takes place before Security Breach but has the same Vanessa takes place in 2019-2020. One knows this when you look at the email dates in the game. Buildings on top of buildings? Only one building is on top of another and that's the Pizzaplex being on top of the Pizzeria. Circus Baby's Pizza World was built in the late 70s early '80s. It never saw light because of Elizabeth's death. The animatronics were then moved to another facility which became the rental place that is the location of Sister Location. Three different buildings, three different locations. Mat tries to tie the games in with the books. 3 times Scott said not to do this as it would lead nowhere. He said it in a thread, he repeated himself in Ultimate Custom Night, and he even goes far enough in the Ultimate Guide to say that only 4 things are tied together, not the actual stories. These three factors alone make at LEAST 80% of Mat's FNAF Theory videos obsolete and worthless.

I love how, despite being a crazy hot pile of mess, the FNAF storyline is still weirdly consistent. There is clearly a lot of love poured into it, and I can't imagine how many hours Scott spent reading his own hints and plot points from all the games, making sure they continue making sense even when the entire story is turned on its head. One example of this is the firing notice from FNAF 1. Odor. What was once a mere hint at the presence of bodies inside the animatronics later evolved to be a reference to Michael's scooped, decaying body. And, most peculiarly, it served both purposes. It had set us on track to unravel the first five murders, back when the lore was much simpler, but later evolved with the games, and with us. Same hints played different roles at different points of our collective knowledge, and this is something that makes me unbelievably proud of this series and it's author. I just can't imagine myself writing something even remotely coherent while having to write it backwards, in a self-fulfilling prophesy kind of way
@cryofpaine
@cryofpaine Жыл бұрын
Except it's not consistent, not really. He's had to include caveats in the last two videos because of glaring inconsistencies. That's the problem when you don't have the whole story mapped out from the start. It's not bad, but any attempt to tie everything together into one coherent story - including Scott if he ever tries to release a definitive timeline - is going to end up with plot holes, contradictions, and inconsistencies.

I have a theory of my own. What if--what if. What if the FNAF 1 animatronics, after William dismantled the core four and extracted the remnant, the spirits returned to the suits, and they were retired to another room. THEN, Henry reopened for Mike to take up the security job and get fired for TAMPERING WITH THE BOTS? You may argue about the remnant of the spirits being injected into the Funtimes, HOWEVER. What if the remnant is not the SOULS but the SOUL JUICE? Mike tampers with the animatronics, and frees the spirits from the suits, and those spirits follow him. He goes to the FNAF 2 location, the spirits there follow him, then when he gets to Fazbear's Fright, the Puppet sends the spirits to rest? There's MY headcanon to try and make this make sense!

I think Mike’s journey began way before Sister Location, and it might’ve partially been a thrill-seeking/investigative venture on his part. He probably used fake names just because he knew that there were rumors about his father and wanted to steer clear of any potential drama. He was also probably unaware of how much danger he was in because he’s never canonically been killed by the restaurant animatronics.
@johnathanligeikis1195
@johnathanligeikis1195 Жыл бұрын
You know, I think that might have some merit. Maybe he didn't start burning them until after sister location? The first/second (whichever had 1987 written on it) game probably was, as you said, him going on a thrill-seeking thing, because of the date, and after he got scooped, that's when he turned to arson. Who knows? After all, it's just a theory.

I truly hope your comment gets more views because this is what I was thinking. Michael had to have started going around to the restaurants on his own for some reason that has nothing to do with finding his father until William did disappear. Maybe Michael also noticed the animatronics starting to act oddly and started his own investigation

Mike's story is just so sad to me. Living with his regrets for the rest of his life, cleaning up after his father and then his tragic end. "And to you my brave volunteer-" idk it all just hits very hard for me
@thechoirtar6077

It may be sad, but he's also guilty for "accidentally" killing his own brother. That accident feels more intentional considering Michael should of known how dangerous the Springlocks were & he was definitely old enough to know better than to prank his brother in such an extreme way.
@bambi.1imb0
@bambi.1imb0 Жыл бұрын
@@thechoirtar6077oh, there’s no doubt that was a act of pure cruel bullying. i think, that in this extreme case, mike as an older sibling had felt the pressure and abuse of his father (cause let’s be real, william for sure abused mike) and the absence of his mom (whether that be physically or emotionally). and in typical cruel kid and older brother fashion, he made his brother his release. he took out his anger on him, and pushed his most important buttons: his fear of the animatronics. i would wager mike didn’t fully understand the mechanics of the spring locks, and definitely was not trying to kill his younger brother. traumatize and scar for life? sure. maim and kill him? no. but he suffered the repercussions none the less.
