I've been uploading to KZbin technically for 13 years now, and I've never seen things get so dire for gaming creators as it is this year. This is after the adpocalypse of 2017 (and technically lingering into 2018), this feels way worse. It's a scary time to be a gaming creator, and we all know that these trends are going to ultimately influence game developers to play better with KZbin's system if KZbin doesn't grow a backbone with advertisers and/or find a way to monetize us like traditional media would. The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Cops, The Jersey Shore, The First 48, etc. all get heaps of advertisements on TV. You even had cartoon shows for kids like Ren & Stimpy that crossed way more lines yet had ads for kids no problem. KZbin needs an intervention desperately, or creators need a new VOD platform that will have our back. As it stands in 2019 they are choking out many gaming creators without communication as to what's going on, and making it insanely stressful to continue making the content that we want to make. It sucks, especially after putting your heart and soul into building a channel for so many years.

lol but youtube helps gaming. Toy Story 4 was front page opening weekend, and was fantastic. WIth games, I just look stuff up, got wargroove after learning about custom levels on youtube vids, and quickly get to things when the ads don't drive me nuts (not buying youtube red lol). This is so depressing, and so true. It makes no sense for advertisers to not want their products featured on content that is so wildly popular, even with violence and nudity. I’m also not sure why advertisers are so afraid of those things and putting advertisements on videos that contain them. It’s not like people watching a Cyberpunk video with a Tide Pods ad before it are gonna think Tide has anything to do with the content or the game... and it would get their product more exposure to an incredibly large but apparently under appreciated and underestimated consumer base.

And that's not likely to change. KZbin lost Alphabet A LOT of money last year. They need to recoup those losses and probably turn profit, otherwise Alphabet may shift gears, which is what they typically do when something 'stops being profitable'. The BIGGEST issue with that platforms is the lack of overall competition. KZbin has literally 0 legitimate competition so long as platforms like Bitchute are labeled 'undesirable' because of their audience and content. In other words, if anything changes, it WILL NOT be to the benefit of the content creators. We're in an age now where you can't become something on this platform; you have to already have an audience.

Those ads do in fact follow similar methods on cable TV though. The advertisers state their audience and the TV channel plays those ads next to the shows that follow those specifications, so you'd get toy and game advertisements next to children's shows, car ads next to news channels, etc. The biggest difference between Cable and youtube would be the size. Companies pay specific channels to host their ads, and they can easily check every single show that channel airs every week, while with youtube putting your ad on there means its brought up next to billions of videos and no way to know what content its placed next to

When i watch a video, I like reading the comments to solidify my opinions or check out the opposing/obscure views on the subject matter, but here I end up wasting my time. I found what Mat said about MK11 to be quite the interesting to tid bit cause i was on the fence about buying it.
