This seems like the most frustrating game ever made, I get survival games are about survival but lets tone it down a bit, don't need everything trying to kill you all at once. I see it has potential but yeah a LOT of balancing needs done. BTW GE when you see a bright light in the sky the trick is to run AWAY from it not towards it!🤣 Thanks GE you're the best!

I'm not sure it needs toning down, GE should had made at least a spear way before a shelter, should have place his shelter on the same side of the river and not cross again and place it that close to a wolf we knew was there. Honestly it looked like this was his 1st time playing a survival game.

Exactly what I was thinking. So many times he could have went back there and emptied out most of his inventory so he wouldn't continuously be leaving items behind because his inventory was full. Cabin gave him protection on four sides with its walls and he could have built his shelter right next to the door entrance so nothing could make its way inside as well.

Fun fact: elderberries, their leaves and stems are poisonous until you cook them. This is hilarious!! It's like a sitcom with aliens. My alien buddies and me. LMBO I laughed so hard. Big boy is an instakill.

The fonts in the menu are atrocious, I mean I get it, it's a work in progress, but let the fonts be normal one can read it clearly. And the popup menus too need to go. Only when you click an item it should pop-up in small, everyone knows what an axe is or a spear is. The menus need a lot of work. Campfire menu's too need to be much more simple. Just give that guy a lighter for a few fires, then maybe the lighter runs out of fuel. Menus need clarity (like in most survival games). The skill tree needs simple icons instead of all those different different fallout type stickers. The Axe and knife should be able to injure animals and those aliens. Events like that flying saucer might need a cut-scene announcing their arrival with some dialog from the player in game.

This game seems fine. Rough around the edges, sure, but it feels like most of the complaints from GE could be dealt with by playing better/smarter. I know, it's tough to do when unfamiliar with a game, which is why I tend to think GE's best videos are the ones he's made after putting a couple of hours in. I would like to see another video of this game now that he is more familiar with it.

The alien sounds like the ewoks lol.😂 I wish that these types of games could implement a stealth fire it's when you dig a hole and build a fire in it with a small tunnel for the oxygen or a bed of coals for cooking to witch you wrap up the food in moist banana leaves and put it on the coals and cover it up with dirt... Good eating.

I feel like the devs of survival games are 600 lbs, and do nothing but program and shove food into their faces at a frightening rate. They always make the character eat enough food to feed someone in a survival situation for a month every day. They also make the animals provide a handful of meat, when a deer, if properly preserved can feed a person for a long time. I would love to see a survival game where the mechanics were much more fleshed out. Like, you could properly field dress and butcher animals, wild plants had their actual qualities etc. So, if you played the game you would end up with actual survival knowledge for that biome.

You put a point in endurance but you didn't activate a skill. Build a chest to store stuff. Activate that drop skill as soon as you can. This game, it looks like you're going to need it. He needs to fix the monsters so you can hit them. Maybe you have to have a specific weapon to hit, like that wooden club?

Lol! This was funny to watch with GE struggling! Sorry GE! but that was funny! 😂 I know most games when they start up have problems. I will say though, the map looks really nice! I'd definitely keep that! 👍🏻 I agree with what GE said throughout the video. I will say as a bit of constructive feedback that I'm not fond of the cartoon-ish icons in the skills menu. That might just be my own personal preference with survival games, but I think the only time cartoon-ish icons should be used is when it's designed towards a younger audience or when it fits the aesthetics of the rest of the game. In my opinion, the icons stand out, but in a bad way. Not super bad, but enough to be a bit like "hmm, not sure on that" kinda thing. 🤔 I'd definitely keep an eye on this one. The premise is good, it just needs more work to sort through some balancing, interactions with the alien things (like the problems GE had with attacking them etc), and the construction side of things. I would like to see the building side of things: what the build creations looks like (the design and style). I will say to the Dev though that I know some Devs can get despondent when people provide feedback, some might be crude in their feedback. But know that people only provide feedback (no matter how harsh) unless they actually care to do so. Apathy is worse. Apathy means people don't care to even comment. So see it as promising that people even care to respond, it means there is a good foundation to work upon. Devs should take that feedback and construct something even better out of the feedback they receive. I know it must be so hard to hear harsh feedback when you've spent so long on something you care about, but as I've said above, you should take that and create something fantastic with it. People are fed up with some AAA games and other higher level games. The audience now more than ever is willing to support indy Devs. Don't squash that chance! Take the feedback and move forward with purpose! I do agree with GE on the price aspect as well because it makes more sense to price a game at £10-12 roughly, than pricing it at £20+. I will say that more people are likely to spend £10-12 on an untested game than the higher price. Overall you are going to make more profit keeping the price lower. More people with a lower price makes more sense than fewer people buying at a higher price. Take this for example: Price of game: £20. Number of people buying: 6. Total = £120 Price of game: £12. Number of people buying: 12. Total = £144 It's much more profitable in the long run to keep the price lower. You'll attract more people who could then recommend the game to their friends and family. Word of mouth is very powerful. More people buying the game means more people talking about the games, which means more potential customers. I hope all this helps because I (like GE) like to help indy Devs. I wish this Dev and all other Devs all the best for their future! 🙂👍🏻 Ps - I apologise for the long comment. I tend to ramble a bit when I feel that things matter a lot.

EDGE......1st Major Problem is the Stamina...did you see how Fast it dropped with Each swing, and Takes Way Too Long to replenish.....2nd obviously your plane crashed in the middle of Nowhere that's ok...small cabin, cool...BUT then you are chased by some very weird creature things....theres no explanation of Anything......early access or Not, I'm gonna say No.....

it has potential but still needs a lot of balancing and maybe give you time to get to know it before things start attacking you. wish devs will do away with that stupid motion blur it is soooo irritating in games. might also be nice if you could claim one of those cabins as your starter base. i noticed with the trees that the ones with the brown trunks seem to give you branches while the ones with the white trunks seem to give sap, feathers and bark.

As you said, the game has promise. But the dev needs to make it much easier to get started, and to increase the items received from trees, bushes, etc. I agree with you that that weird guy needs to go. Really annoying. I would like to see you give it one more go.

Looks like a pretty standard survival game but with "aliens" instead of zombies. Seems way too early for any kind of real showcase though. Looks like the dev has put loads of time into the world and environment, it is beautiful, but not enough time yet into the actual gameplay. I've wishlisted and followed but this is one for the backburner for now. I'm not even bothering to download the demo as, based on your experience, I know I'd just get really frustrated as things are right now.

27 days of doing nothing, wasting away slowly. Not 27 of being active. For the actions you see performed in these games you need four thousand calories a day to even keep your weight. Try not eating, and you will lose a kilogram of body weight every two days, and you're dead in less than two weeks, because your demand to exert yourself will outweigh your body's ability to do so. These numbers do not change much if you start out obese because that only increases your baseline calorie expenditure, evening out the odds by requiring more calories upfront. So the food consumption is not the issue in these games. The issue is how little individual food items are worth nutritionally speaking. A single deer could keep you fed comfortably for an entire month if you knew how to preserve it, more if you preserve the lean meat and eat the organs right away. Instead you get 3 cuts of meat from them in SOTF for example, where those 3 cuts of meat aren't even enough to cook a pot of soup. But then again, it wouldn't be much of a survival game if the survival part would be that easy to take care of now would it?

No. Just no. This is becoming the standard theses days. Someone aspiring to build the next billion dollar game, or has an idea that would, in their opinion, make a game like Sons Of The Forrest or Stranded Deep a little better, follows a few tutorials on Unreal, maybe spends a few dollars on a cheap asset bundle or decides to just use the free give away assets, muddles through a bit of C++ (or copies it from the Unreal forums) to make only a half functioning U.I. with little to no thought on how it looks on the screen, throws in a few pre-animated zombies, pigs and deer with their default behaviors, and a mysterious adversary hinting at some future "boss fight", with no real world experience on anything other than playing other crappy, early release survival computer games, and then "early releases" it on Steam for $30. *I would never discourage someone from learning what's necessary to eventually create and release a good game,* but it takes a good bit of time and effort in learning of things like 2D static and sprite graphics, 3D graphics and animation, coding and creative use of the code, and a fair amount of creativity to come up with a good (different) game premise and end goal. This is like looking at a third grader's C- test results on their multiplication tables or cringe watching someone mimic some well known singer on America's Got Talent. *The only thing good about it at this point is that you didn't pay for it.*

sometime i ask myself, how many survival gamers can survive withouw a craftings menu?????????? or use a wrong order, you can live long withouw food , but not withouw water...... how much will first prior food and not water fire and a shelter...........a shelter, a make shift bed on a dry place, and enough water............... you always need fire first........... else you cannot cook water........... or you lost faster water than you can drink (out wrong hole in body) ......... so fire water shelter and then after al this, you can think of water............but how to hunt withouw make a weapon first????????? i know for sure...... survival in ww3 will be a time of fun, simple by watch people..........there will not lissen to your tips........ so if you wait long enough........ you have a luxery shelter withouw much or even none work..........................
