So fun fact I learned: the difficulty with the first trial is the fact that in the original Japanese version Leon is still written in English. So to a Japanese audience it would in fact look more like numbers than letters.

@@inspector_beyond Indeed. Ultra Despair Girls was very dark. I think what made it more unsettling is that there was children involved. Danganronpa 3 (the anime that finishes off Danganronpa 1, 2, and UDG's story) was fairly dark. Danganronpa V3 I think had some of the most cruel deaths. Mainly because the characters were incredibly loveable (just like DR2's cast).
