In the comics, Homelander actually tried to stop the plane but the 7 were very inexperienced and incompetent and their blunders led the plane to crash brutally. In the show, Homelander was just an asshole who didn't give a shit about the plane. In the game? Well the plane is just a toy for Homelander.

I like that in the comic homelander isn’t a stalking hating person he’s someone who never had the guidance to learn to control his powers so he doesn’t understand the principles or resilience responsibility and communication or commitment he makes very dumb choices for one he should not have carved out the side of the plane he should have asked the pilots to open the less most risky place or simply signal to the pilots that they need to pull and don’t stop someone will then enter inside to stop the terrorist while he stops the plane crash

Comics Homelander wasn't actually a psychopath and was actually a decent superhero till he was gaslit by Noir impersonating him. When HL saw those pics he snapped and became a monster since he thought he did what Noir did but just couldn't remember it. Meanwhile in the show he tried to be good at the start too but the trauma from his childhood AND what happened in The Boys Diabolical just affected him too much

He would have only made the situation worse or faster by ripping the plane in half. In Superman returns it showed exactly how it would have gone wrong but ofc superman had to save the plane, he's the hero but ain't no way he'd save the plane in the boys universe
