The technical input change only applies to specials performed while in neutral. If you use them in combo cancels then easy inputs have the same properties. (This was specifically stated on the slide for technical input) Essentially, this is here to reward ppl with good reflexes/execution who landed specials during the neutral game.

That also means that they still want to lvl out newbies and experienced players, which is ridiculous. Commiting to technical inputs instead of the easy ones pack waaaay more risk and basically the same reward since it makes almost no difference at all in the overall match. It's like buying a deluxe version instead of the common one and receiving a pen as a gift lol.

@@Faelitu 10% extra dmg might not seem like much at one glance, but this does make a difference if you really think about it. For one, it's effectively a 10% boost to all projectile specials. ppl have been doing those moves via technical input for ages to begin with, and these motions are fast and easy enough to do that a big portion of player base can do them with no effort. Now, they straight up get a 10% free extra damage. Another use case would be gap closer specials. These again are moves that ppl have already been doing in neutral anyways and will get the 10% extra dmg essentially for free. Or wake up DP/wake up supers. There're already a ton of ppl who can do these via technical inputs consistently, and now with extra dmg, that's all the more reason to do so. Not to mention, we also have to factor in the damage bonus from BP, up to 50% extra dmg. Add the 10% on top, that is not negligible. The added dmg can easily make the difference between opponent surviving with a tiny amount of health vs securing the win. Sure, the impact might not be as big as what we had before via the CD and dmg scaling, but gotta keep in mind that the core design vision of GBVS Rising is to place an emphasis on tactical decision making rather than execution difficulty. Hence the approach of offering a small reward without making easy input trivial. It's a good middle ground imo by offering a reason and a small reward to use technical input as opposed to having no reason whatsoever like the first beta.

I suck at fighting games and consistently mess up inputs, but doing them mid combo is very rewarding and I don't want that to go away. I know I could still use the directional inputs, but I want there to be a reason. Not a big deal in the end though.

Excellent changes all around. The bravery points for Raging Strikes and other things of that nature act both to curb the spamming of them while also allowing the meter to be used for other things. It's brilliant (and I actually had an idea similar to that, but they really made it work in a great way). And the throws and inputs both get a kind of compromise that I think does not take away from any side at all, and just makes everyone happier. That's the best sort of compromise. For example, the throw tech window is shortened again...but you can "late tech" with any attack button within that short window. Those who like technical inputs care about the "first hit" (such as a punish, or fireball, or something along those lines) being slower to pull off for technical inputs than simple inputs, and the team gave technical inputs there a 10% buff. However, when already within combos, those who prefer technical inputs should not be at a disadvantage, so that benefit drops off as well. It's just about as perfect a solution as I can imagine.

After playing the Rising beta my excitement for this game grows I also heard that they made changes based off the feedback from the beta so thats nice, I'm not picky when it comes to fgs I just love the different playstyles and characters I can use. Ya the f2p aspect should bring in a lot of people since you have access to gran bruise, ranked etc and the characters available rotate so you can try everyone. I watched the stream and I'm liking the changes. I had a feeling they'd change stuff since they care about their GB franchise and really encouraged feedback regardless of if it was negative. However, I'm a bit shocked at how much they did and how fast. It's awesome and I'm sure it won't be the end of listening to feedback and making changes. Can't wait

That 10% boost from technical inputs outside of combos is gonna bring some crazy zoning gameplay to the table. That 50% damage boost with no points sounds like its specifically from using a sky/super sky art on someone. Unless there was a mistranslation im not sure why people think it applies to overall damage, that would be crazy.

I’m still very shocked as to why keep the November (AKA around when the game comes out) second beta it gives them very little time to do anything, depending on when it comes out (as it’s only 29 days left as it comes out on the 26th so what? Super early first week of November beta time) I’ll take the wildest of guesses and say nov 8th at the earliest to maybe 15th at the absolute latest. And it’ll probably be over a weekend but it’s not giving the devs a whole lot of time to fix or work on anything before it fully releases, like if anything October should’ve and would’ve been the perfect month to give us the second beta.

Why does the person stopping the raging strike lose two BP? You lose more for stopping the thing so wouldn't people just be spamming it to deplete the opponent and who get it off first basically get an advantage?

They're very easy to react with spot dodge. If you get hit by it, you deserve to be in a disadvantageous position either that being comboed or having to use another BP to get out of it. There is also the fact that SBA and SSBA gives BP back, so not a big deal spending there in a combo to get those back.

I am sorry but the issues of ex moves no kding and not being able to chain combo from lows has me staying far away from this game. The knockdown nerfs hurt okizeme characters massively, safe jump characters and kills momentum for me so hard. It's a RIP for me.

Nothing i really dislike about what they're changing so far. Everything they change and/or add just hypes up the game more for me. I still want technical inputs to have more benefits though. Another thing is that i'm bummed with is Djeeta' SBA specifically, because the new input rules seem to just make her SBA the stronger version everytime, without the need to input the followups, and no matter how you input the SBA. I really wish i was wrong about this tho. Personally i think they should make it so that you get all the followups no matter what, but you still can time the followup inputs to buff the damage.

BP system changes are going to make this a very slippery-slope type of game which is pretty rare for modern fighters. In an age where FG devs have pretty much universally become pussies, pandering to the idea that they are required to make a game as forgiving to the inferior player as possible, they have inadvertently just made a REALLY good decision that will lead to some very consistent results and, above all, lead to rational decision making during combat. They took what was essentially a modern crutch mechanic (yuck) and made it something you REALLY don't want to have to use if you can avoid it. Honestly I'm all for it. If they actually stick to their guns this could be really fun.

While on an execution level, devs have been dumbing things down. In terms of the complete picture they have been increasing the complexity of other things like resource management and the mental stack. And good players are still going to thrive in systems like that.

They would have had the perfect game and lots of new players. But the old fgc nerds started crying and the devs gave them 10% more dmg for motion inputs. Another developer not knowing how to move forward. Its a shame. The wait for Project L is going to be even longer now. Arcsys doesnt get it, Riot will deliver the next big fighting game. This game will do ok for a month or two.
