Modern US Kaiju are created from shouting "IT WASN'T OUR FAULT! WE DROPPED THOSE ATOMIC BOMBS ON JAPAN TO SECRETLY DESTROY A MONSTER, NOT TO TEST THEM! WE'RE HEROES!" Side note: It's mentioned in the film that they're not birds, but people keep calling them birds because... the public are stupid. It's also explained that Gyaos's eyes now have a light shield over them since it digi-voled.

Andy Semple the US never tested bombs on Japan... they dropped them on Japan in a war. Literally everyone knows that. They tested their nuclear weapons on Pacific islands and in the deserts of America. In 'Godzilla' (2014), Godzilla is shown as a protagonist who the Americans nuke just because. In 'Godzilla' (1998), Zilla is created by French nuclear tests. Your extremely poor grasp of history and kaiju films concerns me.

ZANGOJOE technically there’s a tie-in prequel comic to Godzilla 2014, saying that when the Americans bombed Hiroshima, it woke up both Godzilla and another hive-mind kaiju called Shinomura. Dr. Serizawa’s father became part of Monarch because he was in the Navy after the war and had to respond to a distress signal from an American ship, which was revealed as haveing been damaged by Shinomura. The castle tests in the 50’s were an attempt to kill Godzilla AND Shinomura

as for gamera being the good guy, id like to point out his key purpose is to exterminate threats to the earth, humans are collateral, why he saves a kid or two I have no idea, it would have made more sense if they explained that he protected them due to his link with the girl giving him apathy towards humans, but not enough to not wreck the shit out of everything

I can explain why he didn't initially fly to japan, he was waking up, therefore he may not have had enough power to fly until he got to japan, or simply hadn't woken up enough, both are plausible, have you ever tried jogging immediately after getting up from a nap? is not easy

The reason that the scanners pick up the shape of GAMERAS shell and they don't call the turtle shell is because the director stated that turtles do not exist in this universe cuz he wanted to make it feel like a unique mythical creature

Fun fact the elbow spike was snuck in, the Director wanted it in from the start but the studio didn't want to change Gamera's design. Needless to say the movie did well enough that the studio basically told the director he can do whatever he wants lol, which is why Gamera got aerodynamic fins when he flies in the second movie.

Nagamine being useless against the Gyaos is literally the point of her character. She's a subversion of the "all-knowing scientist" character who always shows up in Kaiju movies and, regardless of what discipline they specialize in, deduces everything about the monster instantly. Nagamine is dragged into this situation by the government because she's an "expert" and has had close encounters with the Gyaos so she *Must* know how to deal with them. She says, point blank that, no, she doesn't know how to deal with these things and is forced by a bunch of idiots to do their thinking for them despite that. That's the point.

I often point to Guardian of the Universe, when I describe what I felt the 2014 Godzilla should've been. I just like how in this movie, the humans misconcstrued the situation, treating Gamera as the bigger threat than Gyaos...because let's face it, at the time, he was - regardless if he was hunting Gyaos. The same with Godzilla; regardless if he was hunting the Mutos, I'm surprised that NO ONE figured he'd be an even bigger threat than they are - considering that he's bigger and stronger and could cause a lot more damage. (Especially before anyone found out that the Mutos could breed.) I just find it perplexing is all - especially since they lump Godzilla in with the Mutos in the overall threat value, and try to take him out with them. All of this culminates in Godzilla really feeling like he was "inserted" into the plot, rather than the plot being centered around him. It's also pretty perplexing that there's not one shot of him destroying the city area, just because...I mean, he's Godzilla...and the total amount of damage he caused was, slight flooding in Honolulu, the Golden Gate Bridge, and one building in downtown Sanfran. Sure Godzilla is benevolent in this movie; but they made him almost TOO benevolent. Like he only exists to show up when the situation needs him. (In essence; Superman.) That being said...I also have a bit of a problem with this movie. I haven't watched it in a few years, so I can't exactly put it in words. Maybe it was due to the limited number of Gyaos, and the few scenes of them actually attacking and eating people. And also - it might be the dubbing as well. This movie has a pretty dark tone behind it; the possibility of a species of Apex Predators over-running the planet and eating mankind, is pretty scary. But the voice actors didn't sound like they gave it the due seriousness it deserved. Granted, there's a lot to like - such as intermingling Gyaos and Gamera's origins together, and all of the nods Gyaos' story takes from Jurassic Park. It makes me feel like if the Heisei Gamera series had gone on, past a trilogy, they could've reintroduced more classic monsters this way. Of the trilogy, I'd say that Attack of Legion is probably the best, because of it seemed to blend the serious tone and voice acting together. And it ultimately did raise the stakes from Gyaos and it legitimately showed that Gamera was outmatched.

Hmm other than for less of ability or budget reasons. It's possible that they used the more dated effects on purpose, not quite as an homage really more of going with, 'if it ain't broke don't fix it type thinking'. Kind of like they might've had the option to try for better effects but that costs more and might not end up well received so instead they use older ones and styles they already knew fans enjoyed. .. Just my own thought though. But to be fair, in my defense I've only seen a few kaiju movies and read a couple comics\manga

The Heisei Gamera trilogy is a reboot of the franchise. Meaning all the previous Gamera films never happened in its timeline. It's the same principle for the Heisei Godzilla era (Godzilla 1984 through Godzilla Vs. Destroyah), where the only one of the previous films that they acknowledge as canon is the original 1954 film (the Heisei series was meant as a new storyline to follow the original 1954 film, primarily to bring Godzilla back to his darker, force-of-nature personality, as opposed to the kid-friendly version that the Showa Era had turned him into).

Well, actually, today's incarnations of dinosaurs are birds, even tyrannosaurus was reincarnated as a bird, so your actually half wrong about Gyaos not being a bird.

Yes, birds evolved from dinosaurs - hence why Gyaos, something between bat and Pterosaur, would not be a bird. Pterosauria evolved from Avemetatarsalia, much like Dinosaurmorpha did, but it would take further evolution down that phylogeny to Dinosauriformes and eventually Dinosauria before you got what was considered to be "dinosaurs," and of course then avian dinosaurs into birds. Pterosauria on the other hand, was a completely seperate branch that does not fall under Dinosaurs, and the lineage is not very closely related to birds. As it states on Smithsonian.com "Calling a pterosaur a dinosaur is an error of the same order of magnitude as saying that our species is a marsupial."
