Im kinda like u but different, i was into FPS games especially Milsim games but at some point i got too toxic over it and got very frustrated and it got stale for me mostly. Thou i still play at least 3 fps games namely Squad and tarkov and I'm thinking about gray zone warfare as to buy but only as my Last fps game that i will buy. Nowadays i normally Play stealth games like Assasins creed and Batman arkham, stealth games for me offer a different sense of enjoyment because not only is it a tactical approach by careful process of elimination but its not as grindy. But as my work schedule gets worse i tend to have limited playing time and the problem with most fps milsim games is that they take way too much time so I'm looking at different genres and rts and turn based RPG came to my mind. I Wanna try rts and city builder as its a thinking mans game and its practically chess lol how ever i want it to have some bannerlord concept where u can still be in the fields and control ur own guy while leading an army as it will turn into a society simulator

Compared to laying hollow brick over hollow brick in a straight line and few corners and what ever they do in USA with paper walls or whatever, medieval buildings had very nice looking wooden beams filled with dirt/wheat /clay mix and white washed with lime which decorate the house , overhanging walls, different shapes , different materials from foundation to the roof top .Also combat isn't just spice , you use your villagers which are used in the chain of production as soldiers meaning if any of them die will be like throwing a bunch of wrenches in a cog wheel

Buying a character model / and or making one and having them move around is like...the foundation of UE5's abilities, probably the easiest thing you could do is have an empty flat ass map and run around with a character you made. - I can complement the building grid system, but everything here is UE5 tutorial level shit, this is like Banished, but with combat and when you get to combat you say this lol 8:54, how is combat not the focus of the game when it's literally advertised "spread your influence" IN the video sold to us? Even on sale $28 right now it sounds like they STRUGGLED just to get here. I'd say give it a shot at least but if you're telling me the Developers themselves expressed how this isn't a combat focused game, while showing "large scale tactical battles" on the store page, I'm already OUT and not giving it a chance, lol because that's a contradictory statement (edit< forgot a word somehow) immediately.

God bless Gamranx. I appreciate these reviews so much when I’m really interested in a game, but unsure if I want to commit.

What’s here is utterly fantastic and the dev should be SO proud. What worries me though is the same thing that makes all this impressive - it’s one guy. How long are we looking at until this is a full release? How long between patches since this is early access? It took 7 years to give us what’s here, how long for everything else? Very much looking forward to it, albeit a little apprehensively.

Well "Manor Lords - Creating the Soundtrack" for me is enough or the "final thing", to love this game. Takes nothing away from the developer, just the opposite. When everything works together, there will be a special game. Yes still early access and takes time to finish, but I already bought the right to play the game, thank you for this special game. PS. I watched this video after I bought... :) Cheers...

This is pretty much exactly what I told my buddy. The game is barebones, but what is there is really awesome and the foundation is very very solid over most other early access games, with some pretty impressive technical performance. I’m excited to see it expand and follow its development closely

Decided to give it a try. Wasn't expecting to be blown away. But this game delivered. One of the best experiences for the genre. Gonna neglect my kids cause of this.

I bought it, played it and it is great and I will continue to play it and wait for updates because it is really worth it, Manor Lords will be most likely the game that will be on par with Anno when it comes to city building enjoyment. Game kicks ass and with Kaiserpunk and Frostpunk 2 that will come in a couple of months time I will have a blast with city builder games this year!!

The combat is the reason I bought this game. I’m really surprised how detailed it is, even though the devs said they focused more on city-building. The enemy AI flanking my archers with light infantry, plus the troops slowing down while climbing, super cool. Combat really stands out for me

I know it's going back in time quite a ways, but I imagined this game to be like a modern version of Pharaoh. Primarily city-building with some combat. Turns out, it's surprisingly not far off and I'm loving it so far.

I bought it and played it for an hour and a half and then refunded it because in that hour and a half i felt like i experienced everything the game had to offer at the time and that's the curse of it being early access. I actually did enjoy what little of the game there was to play and now that I just found out it was made by one guy I'm thoroughly impressed. Was it worth the 45$ AUD i paid for it? At the time no. One day it will be and ill rebuy it then and it has a lot of potential

This is what I'm looking for. Is there going to be more farming when you play as the character?

This really reminds me of the Impressions era games like Caesar 3 and Lords of the Realm. This looks right up the alley for anyone who wants a cozy city builder with a little bit of combat. I'm super excited.

There are so many gameplay elements from Lords of the Realm II in this game. And that makes me so freaking happy. Every so often I install that game and how nothing else does it like that. And boy does this game scratch that itch.

but i do love the build the equipment for each soldier part. feels like an RPG but with like 200+ characters. also cant wait for the lvling up mechanics for the army.

It's no Simpson's Hit & Run, which is disappointing, but I'm still looking forward to playing this.

I hope the success of the EA lets the main dev hire a bunch more people to speed up development. Manor Lords can easily become one of those games that just lasts forever and gets constant updates for 10 years. It would be really cool to see the game grow to the point where you are making a full on medieval city with a castle, and going to war with armies of thousands of people that you have spent the time to build up.

Despite how much thr dev says combat isnt a focus. I love just how in depth it is, and showing just how hard and difficult it is maintaining an army and how painful it can be to an economy losing soldiers

I have this in my wishlist and hope it plays good on steam deck. I didn't know you can actually walk around as the lord in third person :O that's cool

I've never played an rts but this might be my first

Honestly, one thing I would love in the video game and they might do this in the final version is the king that you get to walk around as it would be nice if you could customize the character, you know, put clothing or armor on the sims.

I read that the lord portrait you select in the beginning is supposed to determine who you look like in game but that it's not implemented yet

When you walk around the city can you help fight and collect resources and build?

Yeah,I was getting suspicious about some stuff on this game. I was really looking forward to it, but then it kept getting slow updates. Then it was delayed into AN EARLY ACCESS, and then, even though the Dev used to insist this was an RTS and not a City Builder, a few weeks ago he wrote a post saying the opposite. I don't know how to feel about this game.
@Wolfgang79137 ай бұрын
Slow updates? Dude it's one guy making the game. He delayed it to finish the game? You get suspicious when games get delayed? I get suspicious when they get rushed out unplayable and broken... Also I looked all over the reddit and the developers posts and I couldn't find a single instance of him saying it wasn't a city builder.

For a single developer the production value is astonishingly good. Just look at the UI... I'm totally blown away.

This totally scratches an itch left by Lords of the Realm II. This is a game I've wanted to come back to for years.

id be very interested to see additional civilisations or themes I guess in forms of mods or official stuff. Think it's not a bad idea tbh. I think this game could be a platform for medieval city builders imo
