Just one more person got one and thankfully it was a kid who saved his allowance and birthday money. It kind of started going downhill the moment consoles on mass had internet access, so PS3 and Xbox 360, with that, it made it easy for developers to have micro transaction, release games in a beta form whiles patching it up at a later date and releasing dlc which a lot of which are just pure rubbish at crazy prices. Does anyone remember that games used to just work out of the box before consoles got net access?, even on the PC most games just worked out of the box before thoes consoles, it suggest that developers change how they develop games after that and in some ways for the worse, it also shows that games even on the PC before that worked out of the box without needing a patch to fix them which is impressive considering how much hardware choice PC gamers have always had, so yeah things have gone down hill because the the masses have internet access which makes it easier for developers to ship games out in any state they want and fix the game later whiles in many cases releasing games and holding contents out and adding it in as dlc contents, making it overall more expensive for gamers.

There were some errors in this video. 1. Playstation 2 was not the first system with analouge sticks on the controller. Playstation got a slim version called Playstation One which had analouge sticks on the controller as well. 2. Playstation 3 shipped with Sixaxis controllers first, and they didn't have rumble motors in them because of a dispute between companies. Later they started shipping with Dualshock 3 controllers which had the vibrators. 3. Playstation 3 came in 2 different versions, the one with crome details actually had a 60GB HDD not a 20GB. That was the budget version.

AMA Composite can only go up to 480i or whatever the PAL/SECAM equivalent is (576i, I believe?). Component RCA cables have a max resolution of 1080p. The PS2 can output a max of 1080i, though not natively.

The hard sweat and blood that we all put in to get the highest scores or just to find a Glitch that made the game more fun. But In the new consoles you really don’t see that. I find myself playing with cheaters/hackers most of the time. Nothing can compete with Consoles when it comes to updates because they update automatically when on standby. PCs can't. a few mistakes. 1) the ps1 did have controllers with analog sticks prior to ps2. not at launch but prior to ps2. 2)also ps3 did not have vibrators at first due to some copyright issue.

A little bit after release, I then bought an analogue controller without dual shock that had cupped plastic thumb pads and not the rubberised dome ones. This was long before the PSone was released.

FPS and or Frames Per Second matters, because at low fps your game can feel very choppy and unplayable,and vice versa for high fps. The problem with PlayStation and Xbox is that they decide to lock their fps at 30 on most games, which is in the mid-range of being unplayable and playable. At these framerates, you can expect choppiness and fame lag to make your gaming experience seem terrible. This is why pc dominate, because you can enable if you want your fps locked on most pc games,and it doesn't only let you select a midrange 30,Fortnite lets you lock your fps up to 240 frames per second. Which makes games like Fornite on console(locked on 30) feel sluggish and unplayable.

The best part about the older consoles? (It's a bit of a rant) BUT HERE GOES! You played and enjoyed the games. The game's didn't play or enjoy you. They ALL functioned offline, DRM free. Didn't rely on DLC or require constant updates and patches. No micro transactions, season passes. Internet was not required. Headphones were not a fashion statement, or for screaming into, and were best used to listen to your favourite songs, very LOUD! What we've gained on the roundabout, we've lost on the swing's. It isn't gaming anymore, it's "WHO's got the largest wallet?" A hit or miss, stagnant mess hiding behind fake progress and innovation. The 90s were better, and more exciting times for gamer's! I honestly think that it's mostly because of three more reasons other than what you've just said: KZbin, Hardware, and price Many KZbinrs who are gamers lived and played video games during their childhoods. Now, I suppose many of these ( at least the ones with good AND diversified content (meaning they cover many games and not just a few), lived in the 90s and early 2000s. Some of those game have newer versions and, besides that, those KZbinrs have great appreciation for those games. What follows is, I think, that now we have a great database of content with remakes, remasters, and just the vanilla version of any games, being reviewed because of how popular they were or how important they were to the reviewer. The best example, for me, is Gmanlives, a KZbinr who covers a wide range of FPS games. A Pattern I see in his videos are that he thinks 90s games are just the most fun. I Suppose that Nostalgia is great factor, yes, but also the fact that these games contain no bullshit whatsoever regarding it's attitude to the player. They are just meant to be enjoyed. I think he even refuses to review some games which don't incorporate this spirit. I am mentioning all of this because it has attracted my attention to those 90s First Person shooters, even letting me consider acquiring a platform which will let me play those games better than my cellphone or more comfortable than my computer. I Have also considered this because of a simple fact: Hardware is just available. In whatever device you are reading this, you can probably emulate ALMOST ALL of the 90s and maybe early 2000s platforms. If this is not the case, then getting something like a PSP and cracking it to be able to emulate other platforms is not that hard or expensive (considering particularly second hand ones). There are tons of content (Again, KZbin. Do you see a pattern here?) that will guide on how to do it. Finally Price, which comes along the convenience. Compare going to google and search something along the lines of " rom download" and having a new game within seconds and with ridiculous low effort with going to a physical store, having to pick and pay for a game or with going to your platform's store and digitally buying a license for a game. Which option seems to take less effort, time and money? This is my point. Another point could be that the Children who played video games are now adults and so have the money to spend on their nostalgia. But this is debatable, I guess. What I just said is very personal. It is what is inclining me to play old games. What has actually been stopping me is that I have a gaming platform and not much time available, so I don't want to acquire a new platform and having to divide my time like that.

They removed backward compatibility on purpose to increase console sales, but with CFW's such as REBUG, they remove this limitation and allow you to play any previous gen game as long as it's on a CD. and what has Sony done to counter that? ban all access to PSN, etc. people should know better than to support that greedy company.
