It's the best Mortal Kombat game of all time. I don't care what anyone says. In terms of everything MK brings to their usual games, Shoalin Monks had great gameplay. Cool characters moves, along with Sub zero and Scorpion as unlocks, and an actual cool story with Cool interactive levels. I'll die on this hill of Shoalin Monks being the best MK game ever. They need to do a sequal and get away from this 1 v 1 stuff. It's overdone and doesn't offer anything worth $70. Shoalin Monks, and Resident Evil 5 are the greatest coop games of all time. Army of two is up there, as is Army of Two, Devils Cartel was an underrated gem.

Left for Dead 2 realism mode is to notch fun. My cousin and I have logged tons of hours on that mode alone. I'm sure it's even better with a full squad. It turns off all the highlights and doesn't hold your hand as much. Play it on normal difficulty or higher, and it's amazing

@@zielona_f really? I played it on PC a few months after release and didn't encounter a single glitch or bug, it was a smooth and satisfying experience. I had a lot of fun in the new locations, zombies and Parkour! For me it was an amazing experience, both were. I was a little disappointed with the night since that wasn't as scary as Dying light 1 especially because there were no Volatiles roaming around but I saw that they updated that and even added a new DLC so I am planning to even revisit the game. Maybe the "only 1 person progression" is a frustrating for some people but I played both of the games entirely co op so that didn't really matter to me, in fact I didn't even know that this was the case until your comment lol.

Yeah, I played it with my teen daughter (her mom & I divorced when she was very little)... it was brutal, but when I asked her about it afterwards, she completely understood the point they were getting across. We both hated that the game ended with them reconciled, though, because they have such a toxic relationship & the ending seemed to fly in the face of the entire rest of the game.

I wanna throw out a couple. Killing Floor 1 and 2 are great. Resident Evil 5 and Dead Space 3 coop are imo the way to play these games, even if they are considered lesser in their series, it is just so much fun on top of getting more from the games. Many of the Ghost Recon games, I'd pick Future Soldier, Wildlands, and Breakpoint(after all the patches) are also great coop games if you can get 2-4 people together. Also Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is also another great coop game. Edit: HOW COULD I FORGET EARTH DEFENSE FORCE. You want blow away giant insects mindlessly, there is not better game

Me and my family LOVED playing the X-Men Legends and Marvel Ultimate Alliance games growing up. Was always a blast to get to pick our favorite characters to play as and work together to beat iconic villains. Though the cameras were a little janky at times, it was nice to be able to all play on 1 screen vs having to deal with a splitscreen. Similar game that was kind of a sleeper hit was Shrek 2. Similar co-op topdown brawler (less emphasis on the RPG stat aspects) but a ton of fun.

Appreciate the shout-out to Splinter Cell CT. That co-op campaign was tons of fun, designed from the ground up as a separate campaign too. I remember performing the co-op moves, sneaking around, defusing bombs and goofing around with the NPC's with a buddy. As for L4D, it's the 8 player Versus mode that did it for me. It combined all the joys of co-op with versus multiplayer and with a great group of people and cross-speak on it could be absolutely hilarious. Ah, good times :')

My favorite local coop is Resident Evil 5. As a RE game, it may not be loved, but as a co-op game, it's one of the best imo. Online coop is are GRAW and GRAW 2. Those games had 16-player co-op. When you turn off the respawns and radar assist, man, it's intense. I remember playing missions that lasted an hour or so because it took so much coordination... even with great teammates, we would rarely pass missions with even 1/4 the team surviving.

I had absolutely no idea that Evil West was co-op. Thanks for letting me know. Two things though; even when I am not a big fan, I don't feel like the Borderlands saga should be a bonus... It should at least be top 5, considering how long the campaigns are, how many people you can play with and how the progress works in co-op. Also, Dying Light, which is at least better than the Far Cry games in terms of co-op (better progression, more people and just overall better game), and it is not even a bonus mention :(.

Overwatch in an AC130 is what overwatch actually is, in military terms. It's basically long range support from elevation, it's often snipers, though it's also fairly common for helicopter gunships or drones to provide overwatch.

The best thing about LFD2 is the drop in-drop out mechanic with ever adjusting difficulty depending on players/skills. It always feels 'just right'

Me and my gf have been playing so much stardew valley, it’s such a fun game to just unwind and chill out with. She likes cozy games and it has a good progression system so I have a lot of fun too. Honestly one of the best co-op games I’ve ever played

I'll second Stardew Valley. One of my all-time favorite games, although I've yet to try co-op. The Lego games are all couch co-op (except the Wii U version of Undercover). Overcooked All You Can Eat includes the first 2 games + DLC and those are pretty hectic and fun. Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon has a VS mode.

As a dragon fan (way too few games out there where you can play one imo) I think part 3 of the spyro dawn of the dragon series would be an honorable mention. You play Spyro and Cynder, both dragons, who are tethered together by a magical collar. You can fly (finally), each can control a few elements, it has a cute story and a few puzzles in it's levels. My sister and I played this so much on the Ps3. I liked the tether dynamic because while it prevented separate exploring and split screen, it gave a good plot-driven reason for that.

One that i personaly can sugest to anyone wanting a chaotic fun time is Snowruner Co-Op. Geting stuck in mud or snow and having your friend try to help you just to get stuck aswel is the most laugh you can have.

The Monster Hunter series has the best Co-op and has gotten much better over the years going way back to 2004 on the Ps2. MH Tri was when I got my first multiplayer experiance as my home never had the internet back in the ps2's day. MH World/Iceborne became the series in which my family and friends would play with me of which made me so happy! Finally getting the people I care about the most to play a game I love was the best and now they are all looking forward to MH Wilds! : D
