When i hear jordan talking i feel so bad for not watching his youtube videos or twitch stream more often. I think he is such a bright light in the community. I hope he will be successfull in his full time job and will still be relevant in aoe 2 tournies!

I'm one of those people who sees YT as being the better streaming platform to Twitch. It has a higher bitrate, so better quality, streams last forever as VODs, and can be linked to other channels related to one's IP. With the internal linking it can also be linked to by others when collabing with other YTers and such. The only argument people make for Twitch is that there are more and more obnoxious emotes to be spammed. These days I only watch YT streams (no more Twitch) and find them enjoyable. I also see that collabing and linking between each other's helps to share one's content and channels. For streamers on YT when answering this question, even if they have been on Twitch before or not, don't even consider Twitch as an option worth taking. They see it as YT vs an alternative platform like Rumble or Kick. In the circles I watch content of they don't see Twitch is a strong or viable long term option. The only people I see ever bring Twitch up are those who already stream there.

Man, I just realized when Masmorra explained Viper took the wrong way on the last game of Hera's set that it would be great to have the game's image of that particular moment on that beautiful screen on the background. I think it would add dynamism to such moments where a play is being described.

We also thought about showing small games scenes, posts, etc. what the guys talk about. Couldn't fit the editing hours in it this time to not delay the upload even further. But we most likely will add that in the future.

Jordy leaving his dreams behind to do the necessary responsible adult decision breaks my heart. He hasnt been performing that well in tourneys and the stream is rather on the smaller side...but with an amazing vibe a great energy..whats really sad is that him living in Germany was the biggest problem in his AoE career..if he were to live in easter europe his income from AoE would be probably sufficient to keep going. I really hope this is not the end and with time he will find balance between work and streaming. Jordan is the man!

Yeah, some of Viper's decision making was off and he admits this in his own POV especially in Part 1 vs Tatoh. "I see what Tatoh is doing. I know what to do against it, but for whatever reason I don't do it." But this is something that Viper has brought up multiple times in the last few months generally when playing. At least he knows its going on. It is the first step to figuring out why and fixing it. Hopefully he can figure it out.

1) I noticed in the rounds of 21 that when viper was more agressive he won more than he lost and when he wanted to be greedy or more passive he suffered more or lost. Maybe this has to do with what he says about decision making. 2) I loved clash of empires, the map selection and the house rules made very entertaining games even though some ended quickly. Also watching Daut play so well in a format he even said didn't benefit him is always amazing.

Yeah, I get that keeping the dark age in. I might not often pay attention to it but I like it there. Great or bad decisions in dark age can greatly influence decisions in feudal or castle age. I've found that skipping to feudal or later I feel kind of lost for a bit even if nothing significant happened before hand. The play before hand just helps you understand the map and how the players have been posturing and it helps one feel more invested in the match.

@28:54 Yep - I love watching AOE2 games but only really have time for 3 in a sitting. BO21 it's hard to stick to the narrative of the tournament, so often give it a miss. I've been watching selected sets of the TTL as they're play all 3, and keep up to date with the deciders, and then aside from that getting together for the big 4 tournaments is all the time i can spare. Dont want to dilute the hype! If hera wants to do a tournament he can take the spot of one of the vacant slots - Red Bull or Hidden Cup

Great podcast as always! Maybe one advantage for Jordan in future tournaments. Less pressure to perform well tournaments. Because you dont depend on tournament prize financianally the same as when you are a fulltime streamer who dont make enough to live comfortably from subs/etc.

Really amazing to see Jordan reflecting in such a profound way. Also admitting openly what you're lacking really is a sign of strength. wish u all the best man! On a side note: might be my tired brain but the GL shingles on the screen were quite distracting. Maybe it's not just my special brand of ADHD and you guys should consider changing it.

It's so great having an open format to hear viper talk about things. Coming from other games, typically a Korean is the goat so non Korean speakers are limited in really getting into a players mind. With viper though you get to hear and see the thought processes of a game's goat

You can see the level of Jordans play decrease in the last months, which is now much clearer why. He had too much stress to perform to keep it financially interesting for him. He is such a nice guy that needs to grind, but still have that underdog vibe to keep off the pressure. Which worked excellent when he came back at first. I remember a hidden cup performance for example. Anyway best of luck to Jordan, he deserves it.

At around 24:50, those educational videos that Daut used to do. Doesn't Hera have something similar these days? Where he deliberately plays on a lower level, like deliberately having poor micro etc.

To me it looks like Jordon looks at streaming as being a finite thing. As in there are only so many viewers and there can never be more. And from that mindset he tried to stream at hours others were not streaming. But from what i've heard a successful streamer say is that you have to look at the streaming viewership as being near infinite. There are billons of people on the planet and they can for whatever random reason find your stream and choose to watch. And so you can't see it as competing with another content creator for finite views but rather giving other viewers reasons to watch you. So an example of this is that I watch all of my AoE 2 content via youtube. Meaning I only watch AoE2 casters and streamers who actually have a youtube and then on top of that who make content I find interesting. But if they weren't on youtube I'd not see them, never find them and there would be zero chance i'd follow them over and view their content on any other platform. It would also mean once less potential person who finds them on YT, which with the way the algorithm works, you need more clicks and viewers and interactions to push that channel. So an example is that I used to watch a lot of Hera no YT. Some time back he changed the style of content he posted. He stopped posting as much full games. Or for a while I think he stopped completely. I quit watching his channel because watching a full game when relaxing or eating is kind of what I wanted. That is fine, i'm simply not the niche he was apparently going for, or he was hoping i'd watch him on Twitch, but it didn't carry over to me specifically. But it isn't like Hera and Viper were competing for me or that he was competing with T90 and Memb. If a game is good I might watch it from a few perspectives because often the reactions are what sell the excitement. Back then I would watch both Hera and viper near daily. After that change I stopped watching Hera. They weren't in competition. Those videos are there forever and people can watch them at their own leisure. And so as a summary I think if Jordon thought of it in this respect he would do better. Or as the Viper mentioned, If he streamed in the busy hours then there is more of a chance that other streamers, especially more popular ones, would pass on their viewers to Jordon. So don't make decisions that limit opportunity but rather make ones which help to expand potential opportunity.
