I really like the 7000D. The build process was fairly painless due to the good design and sheer amount of space in there. 140cm fans provide lots of airflow, easily keeping a 9900k (5ghz all cores) and 3080ti temperatures under control and the system is not particularly loud. My only niggle is that I wish they would provide a fine dust filter for the side radiator panel. You only get a fine filter for the front panel. The coarse vent will allow too much dust into the case/radiator if you use it.
@justinnesbit39483 жыл бұрын
What method do you use to cool the CPU and GPU?
@lfscrazy3 жыл бұрын
@@justinnesbit3948 CPU is cooled with a front mounted BeQuiet Silent Loop 2 280. Also at the front another 14cm fan blowing at the GPU. GPU is air cooled. On top there are 3 14cm exhaust fans. 1 14cm exhaust at the back. So it's cold air in at the front, hot air out the top and back.
@justinnesbit39483 жыл бұрын
@@lfscrazy Thanks for the response. I was unsure of what the best way to channel airflow would be. Couldn't determine if the design of the case is meant to push air out of the front, top and side, and draw air in from back. Are you using the configuration recommended by Corsair, i.e. air intake from the rear and outlet from the front (and top)? Something that'd be nice to see for these case reviews is some sort of "standardized" way of testing the case if all the fan slots are occupied. Obviously for low/mid ranged cases the stock config is more relevant , but especially for these large cases its pretty safe to assume people will be shelling out for extra fans as well anyway. Whether that be for RGB fans or just plain ones. If you can budget for such a large case, I think its safe to assume you can budget for fans lol. Particularly for a case like this with side intake, that would certainly help the thermals of even the solid panel versions that otherwise look disappointing performance wise. I say this as a 5000X user where with all the fan slots populated with corsair QL fans (not exactly great airflow fans) and I see only about 1C difference for both GPU & CPU swapping between glass and airflow front panels or even removing it entirely. At that point, the trade off is way more acceptable than the review would imply.
@marczamp47372 жыл бұрын
Wow I’m really disappointed your comment didn’t get any attention, I would love to see what you’re suggested implemented. It’s hard to on their thermal results as they aren’t not representing how the cases will be configured in the real world, if not left stock

But it should have been an opportunity for the manufacturer of a big case to enable the customer to use it not only for show but for something productive too. Let´s be honest Big Towers are rare these days. And when they come out the usually lack in useful spots for things the typical big tower buyer needs. HDD cases (or lack of) or a second Mini MB hardpoint or a second PSU slot. Enthoo Pro 2 comes to mind which others just that, but with a disappointing build quality. Still using a HAF X because it has great airflow and metric tons of HDD cages (which dont wobble a bit).

I actually bought the 7000D and enjoy the space for my 4 120sp rgb fans on the right side and two 140mm fans on the front and the one on the back. It works great with my rm1000x shift and 4080, the 4080 is a giant keyboard sized card and having all the space and ability to actually work with the shifts side panel ports is amazing. I currently have a h100i right but plan on replacing it with a h170i in the future as well as possibly adding another 140mm fan on the front.

I really do not get why a case this big doesn't have a drive bay, some of us still use physical media and I would love a new case with a place where to put my Blu-ray drive...
@DaleEarnhardtsSeatbelt3 жыл бұрын
Most of us have switched to external drives and would rather have the space for cooling. I still have an antec 1200 and hafx both have a 5 1/4 drive both house fans now.
@HAL_NOVEMILA3 жыл бұрын
@@DaleEarnhardtsSeatbelt I also have an HAFX, personally I am not a fan of external drives due to all the clutter they create on the desk, frankly with a case so humongous there should be really no reason why Corsair couldn't find the space to fit both the fans and the the disk drive or at least give the option to choose...
@DaleEarnhardtsSeatbelt3 жыл бұрын
@@HAL_NOVEMILA yea I see where you're coming from. Unfortunately since the O/S started being more convenient to install from USB that was the end of life support for 5-1/4 drives. I rarely use my external drive last few times it was only for blueray M-discs for long term data retention. Of course I don't speak for each use case but it's hard to accept CDs are joining the graveyard with floppies and zip's.

Building in a drive bay which does not hinder the front fan support is probably not that easy. And fan as well as radiator support is the most important criteria for cases meant to be used for excessive watercooling. Nowadays it is probably more likely to sell such a large case to someone who wants to build a large watercooling loop than to someone who actually needs a drive bay.
@jthomas.3 жыл бұрын
GDI, I built in a 4000D which I like (even though I had to creatively mod it to make shit fit), but then Corsair releases the 5000D which I like better, and now the 7000D which I like even better still. I am so tempted to ditch this still fairly new case and rebuild in it's bigger brother (I probably will) , damn you Corsair!!
@Capellix00013 жыл бұрын
You dont need to remove the cable bar to use side fans if its anything like 5000 series. I was able to do it lol
@Krymms3 жыл бұрын
But then you just have a bunch of air being pushed into a wall and will have very much diminishing returns and worse noise/cooling ratio.

This pisses me off so much. I bought a 5000D a month ago and I would have bought a 7000D had I known it would come out so soon. Why don't companies announce the whole lineup at once with a roadmap so that we know what to expect? I would have given them more money ffs.

*Antec One user here...* I've got an old case and the BEST feature is its COFFEE HOLDER. I'm not kidding. It's got an R9-3900x + GTX1080 and is pretty much dead silent when gaming and barely audible with the CPU at full load. My "secret" sauce? Noctua CPU cooler and Noctua fans for the case and graphics card; and spending time to optimize the fan profile. That's it. Average case, minimal noise!

Actually, I would say they found their way compared to the past where they were only concerned about looks. The 4000D Airflow is one of the best cases on the market.

I love full tower cases just because they are so much easier to work with. I think its funny when you reference the weight and thickness of this case. My first build, the case was a PC Power & Cooling solid steel, 10 x 5.25" bay monster that literally weighed 75lbs - empty case! I used 4 bays to add two 80mm fan adapters, one 3.5" adapter for the floppy, and two Plextor drives. It served me well for over 10 years. I am currently still using my Corsair 800D and I have to say, I still don't see much of a reason to upgrade at this time. Still love these reviews though!

12:10 Here you can see one of the few usecases for a Gigabyte PSU. Being a placeholder for where a real PSU might go. Other usecases include cutting the sidearmor of a Corsair 7000 case with an electric arch from a failed PSU component.

I am still very happy with my 750D Airflow edition. It comes with a lot of space for thicc radiators and despite the case airflow not being completely optimal since I added dust filters to the bottom air intakes, I am still able to have a completely silent and cool running system. Vega 64, 3900X Alphacool thicc 240 + thicc 360, Phanteks C350AP, EK Vega w/ backplate, D5 pump.
