I love Sheepy, for how short and simple the game is, for me it was a spectacle, and on top of that it's free. Although I'd love for it to be longer and bigger, it literally is in its name: A Short Adventure. And I really enjoyed the adventure. I played it a few months back and I still listen to the soundtrack now and then.

Sheepy A Short Adventure is honestly one of the most underrated title this year, especially considering it is free. Also has one of the best soundtrack I've heard in a while

I actually like the "camera management" of Elden Ring. Fighting the Dancing Lion, seeing how I can't see anything when he does his forward spinning combo, and then realizing that not being able to see anything was actually a hint that I need to _run away_ from the attack instead of dodging it was really fun.

Absolutely agree with you about SotE, super hard, fair fun! A thing I’d like to complain though is how well hidden most areas are. Abyssal Woods, Jagged Peak and Cerulean Coast all have way too few entrances.

Huge enemies are best fought with the camera unlocked. That's true since Dark Souls 1 (and possibly Demon's Souls). Takes a while to get used to, but it helps.

even without the deflect hard tear you do not need to "wait your turn" to get hits in, dodging isn't the only way to avoid damage and everything has blind spots.

Regarding Elden Ring: I loved everything about it except the last thing. And I did exactly the same as you, EXCEPT I decided I wanted to try different things and tried dual weapons (instead of big chunky bonk weapon), so I could not use the Deflect Tear. I think that made me dread the final boss. As you say, the Deflect tear was a definite counter for the high aggression, but that does not apply to all the cool dual weapons styles that were added in the DLC. So if the only difference was that, and that changed my entire outlook for that last fight, there's definitely an issue there. That said, loved the game to bits and I agree the (other) bosses are a blast!

I suck ah and I was easily able to learn to position myself with 100% success to not be pushed up against the wall with the divine beast so I never got that criticism. I got wrecked by everything in this game but that was one of like 3 things that was immediately obvious to me as something that was my fault and that I had to overcome

WHY IN 2024 ARE WE STILL CONTROLLING THE CAMERA IN 3D GAMES?!?! MARIO 64 WAS ALMOST 3 DECADES AGO!!!

Shadow of the erdtree had a lot of issues in my opinion and even if i enjoyed the dlc overall i'm mixed and most of them are covered in the video ofc. For example bad mob design (like furnace golem), poorly though re-re-re-use (like death bird or 75445 dragons), few "main" boss that i didn't enjoyed (like senessax). The fact that the map is way more complex and scenery more clear-cut than in the obase game (way more cooler imo) but is more often than not empty and not empty like a botw or totk, i mean really empty and you have nothing to do or see there. And the last boss p2 is probably the most tedious boss i ever tried, the design encouter is so flawed, you often can't see anything because of the flashbang or hos ssj 12 hairstyle or even his cape. Al these problems made me quit the game without really even trying p2, the boss seemed not that hard to beat but just totally uninteresting and frustrating to learn. He just didn't interest me and I wouldn't have gotten any satisfaction from his death I think since I already had that on the One Trick Pony Malenia that i didn"t enjoyed much even tho it took me only a bunch of hours and was the final boss on the base game for me so yeah.. Elden ring is really uneven, i enjoyed the game but it can't touch Sekiro for me (far from it) and not sure if I prefer it to DS3 or DS1 But the dlc also have some of the best boss in elden ring, improves some issues in the base game and have some great moments that's for sure, as you point out there has been a lot of negative feedback on dancing lion but now it's my turn to have difficulty understanding them 😅, he moves a lot but I find his movements rather easy to follow/ guess the result and be able to play in accordance with Had a great time with Sheepy too, i've done it 2 weeks ago or so 👍

It's not "either or", I love exploration more than I love boss fights as well, and yet the scadurtree fragments are still an asinine inclusion even for me. Being forced to explore to be able to beat a certain progression gate (what the bosses are essentially) so that I can continue to explore felt as punishing to me as it did to people who are here just for the bosses. Shadow of the Erdtree disappointed all of us, the best Soulslike release of the last year remains Lies of P. Edit: I don't get into online arguments as I treasure my time too much, so I won't be responding to anything, sorry about that. Dropping a comment tends to boost engagement with creators and tosses them a cent or two, which is the only reason I bother writing anything anyhow. My comment is objective fact though, Shadow of the Erdtree was ass and Lies of P is better for whoever hasn't played it.

Bosses in the DLC are usually not progression gates though. There are only 3 mandatory bosses in the entire DLC and you can pretty much acesss every area of the map (except Enir Illim and Jagged Peak) without killing a single boss if you explore thoroughly enough. Also I don’t understand the criticism about the Scadutree Fragments “forcing you to explore”. You could say the same thing about the leveling systems in the base game too. You had to scavenge for runes, smithing stones, and flask upgrades and if you didn’t you would be progression locked by several bosses. The Scadutree Fragments were added so you could have the same experience you did in the base game of getting shit stomped by a boss before exploring and coming back stronger to beat it. You would not be able to have this experience in the DLC if it used the base game leveling system due to it’s diminishing returns at higher levels

Also you are definitely in the minority if you were dissapointed by the DLC. You don’t speak for “all of us”. The DLC literally has the exact same Metacritic user score as the base game. It was only a vocal minority who didn’t like it
