If i had to recommend Persona 5 Strikers, get it for the story and characters. P5S is the first game that brought me to tears at the end. The new characters are funny, Zenkichi is literally the funniest Persona character i know. And Sophia is my overall favourite, but saying why would be spoilers.

If you want a break from overly long JRPG’S Mainline SMT is perfect they are like half as long as Persona
@powerfulstache05833 жыл бұрын
Games I've played this year so far Spider-Man Miles Morales Feels just as good as the original but it felt way too short and underwhelming compared to the first game. Persona 5 Royal It was my introduction to SMT as a whole and now, I totally understand the hype but the daily life segments were so engaging that I began to dislike the palace segments for disturbing my protagonist's free time. HITMAN 3 I was one of the few people who actually cared about the plot of the trilogy and I wasn't disappointed, it's still the same modern Hitman gameplay because why would you change perfection, the levels are not as good as HITMAN 2016's but they're still great. Ace Attorney Trials and Tribulations Best game of the trilogy, every case was great, the over-arching plot was engaging, the characters were really good. It's just a great game. Ace Attorney Investigations I liked TT so much that I began a AA marathon and this one... was okay. It's pretty much a filler game, I heard the sequel was awesome though. Super Smash Bros Ultimate I'm pretty late to the party due to getting the Switch at christmas 2019 and being a high-schooler but it was awesome... for one week. There's a lot of content to keep you interested but fighting games get repetitive when I play alone and World of Light is pretty underwhelming compared to the much superior Subspace Emissary. Apollo Justice Ace Attorney This was a bold move for the franchise that I really liked because of the endless amount of opportunities it opened. It starts off really strong with one of the best game beginnings I've ever played only to stumble around with two mediocre cases and end on a decent case. I really dig the new gimmick where you have to spot the witnesses' ticks to uncover lies though. Zelda 2 The Adventure of Link This game is so painfully hard. The game itself is good, the overworld is decent, the dungeons are fun to explore, I like the RPG elements, I like how you can enter villages to get magic spells and hints to help you in your quest but it's too hard to be enjoyable. There's nothing wrong with the difficulty and I wouldn't have minded if it wasn't for this horrible life system. You get 3 lives, you lose one when you die (which will occur very often) and when you're out of lives, you go back to the first area of the game and you have to walk all the way to where you died and all the enemies you killed have respawned. I had to use an infinite lives cheat code to beat the game and it was a much more enjoyable experience. Bioshock 2 It's one of those sequels who played it safe by being more of the first game, doesn't mean it's bad though. I also like how the antagonist is the polar opposite of Andrew Ryan in terms of ideology but Rapture remains the same. Ace Attorney Dual Destinies I enjoyed this less than I should because I was burned out by AA at this point, I was also bummed out by Capcom undoing the heavy consequences of AA 4's over-arching plot by bringing back Phoenix as a playable lawyer. Cooking Mama I'm enjoying this game way too much, something's wrong. I also have a few recommendations World of Goo This is a very old indie game where you guide sentient goo balls towards a pipe by building a structure made of said goo balls, it's a great short game that I revisit every year. Telltale's The Walking Dead This game is pretty much Telltale's magnum opus and is considered by many to be their best game, the plot is great, the characters are so good I consider some of them as favorite characters in fiction, I've never cried so much over a fictional story. The Hitman series This series is probably the only pillar of the stealth game genre who kept making good games. You play a bald hitman on his jobs that involve blending in with the crowd and taking out targets by using his environment.

Hey dafawfulizer, Can you please play your turn to die. It's a lot like danganronpa and personally I like it more than danganronpa. Your turn to die has people dying (obviously) but depending on certain choices you can save some people while some others die. And the decision at the end of chapter 2 completely changes the story of chapter 3. As of writing this comment the game isnt finished. It's at chapter 3-1-B. I would love to see you make a review of the game since I wanna know what you think of the characters and the other major plot points.

Normally I would recommend Rain World but I don’t think you would like it very much. It’s strange, I love the game but I understand why many hate it. The game is hard and takes a while to master, some of your deaths come from RNG, and there’s little to no directions. But at the same time, I love it for all its flaws. Figuring things out in this game makes you feel amazing, the RNG makes the game feel more alive, and the art style is magnificent. If you play it and don’t like it, fair enough, as the game is definitely not for everyone.

Persona 5 Strikers does have some long missions, but thankfully there are checkpoints scattered throughout each dungeon in case you need to save, restock on items, or check the Velvet Room. Even if you’re not sold on Koei Tecmo’s beat-em-up style, I still think the game is totally worth it for the story. Edit: Also, Octodad’s VA plays one of the new characters.

Man I wish I could recommend OFF but dear lord does that game have a lot of red flags to you not liking it. Focusing on puzzles that are designed around taking notes, a story with elements that games like Undertale have since done significantly better, battles that are pathetically easy, the story not getting interesting until like half way through, the fact it was an RPG Maker game made in 2007... yeah, you'd probably quit pretty soon

Out of all of the games you mentioned I've played five of them this year and late last year. Those being Hollow Knight, Dust an Elysian Tail, No More Heroes 2, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, and Crash Bandicoot 4. My thoughts on them are as follows: Hollow Knight: Really good, though I got lost and decided to stop for a while. Dust an Elysian Tail: I enjoyed it for the most part, but I don't think I'll replay it any time soon. No More Heroes 2: I liked it a lot, though I'm struggling (pun not intended) to decide whether I like this one or the first one more. I'm excited for NMH 3 but still on the fence on buying Travis Strikes Again. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity: This was a one-and-done game for me. If I ever replay this game, it'll be a long time later. Also, I totally planned on playing this and Breath of the Wild back to back to complete the story, but I can't because (spoiler alert) of that damn cop-out at the end. Crash Bandicoot 4: Enjoyed it casually. Really starting to hate completing it. As for new games, I really only played Little Nightmares 2 when it launched in February. I recommend playing it, though that ending will destroy you. I tried to play Friday Night Funkin', but like you, I sucked at it. I am interested in Shady Part of Me though. Maybe I'll pick it up. Also, I really liked your avatar in "Why V3 is the worst one." video. Do you think you could bring it back?

Just because I can I'll put all my games I've played this year so far. It's not that many so yeah: 1) Astro's Playroom. So I got a PS5 for Christmas and it also happens to be my first PlayStation console ever so that's nice. I thought Astro was an incredibly fun game and was a good introduction to PlayStation and what the PS5 is capable of with the new stuff like adaptive triggers. 2) The Last of Us. Probably one of the best stories I have ever experienced in a game. It has some of the most grounded, interesting and realistic characters I've ever seen in a game, and there are some absolutely depressing moments in this game. Sadly the gameplay was just typical crafting-stealth-survival whatever (I did still enjoy it but yeah it is generic) but I can overlook that for the amazing everything else. 3) Control. I had a lot of fun with Control. I enjoyed the floaty and light combat, found the story to be intriguing and I like how weird and other-wordly I feels. Plus Abiatti is the greatest video game character of all time. 4) Ghost of Tsushima. Probably one of my favourite games this year. The gameplay feels so fresh and refined, with incredibly fluid combat and stealth that can be blended together well (at least that's the play-style I went with). There are so many little details that make exploring the fast open world so fun. The game was gorgeous; I don't think I've ever used a photo mode so much in a game. My only gripe with this game is while the story itself is fairly interesting, the characters are basically just well-voiceacted archetypes. Still though, a class game. 5) Uncharted. It was fine I guess. Just felt like TLOU but with cover-shooting and not as good. Still a fun experience. 6) Hitman 3. Probably my favourite game of this year. The level-design is absolutely superb, and fully takes advantage of all the game mechanics like disguises, target assassination etc. I like how there has been a focus on creating smaller but more tightly-packed and interesting mission as opposed to massive, empty missions with like 999999 targets like in Hitman 2. It's truly is everything I wanted out of a Hitman game. I do have much more praise for the game as well but I'm tired and lazy so you'll just have to pretend I said other things. 7) Assassins Creed Valhalla. Biggest waste of money this year, I honestly hated it so much. For one, idk if it has anything to do with my PS5, my TV or anything else, but for some reason the game looked really muddy and ugly, like it was a Wii game being remastered on PS5 or something. The gameplay was a slog: it was basically just Ghost of Tsushima but with slow and clunky parkour, generic combat and boring stealth also the world is about 100000 times bigger and has less missions, NO side-quests and takes forever to get anywhere. At least the music was alright, but that's not enough to save it. 8) Spider-Man Miles Morales. It was really awesome but I'm getting tired so pretend I just said loads of good stuff about it and the haha funny exaggerated swagger. And that basically brings us to now, where I'm currently playing through Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart (and loving it) and Returnal (also loving it). I know this isn't really many games but keep in mind they're all big AAA games and usually when I'm enjoying a game I like to 100% it before moving on. I'm just good a persistence and always want to squeeze the most out of a game I can (except for Ass Valhalla).

I can understand several of your points in Colossus Down. It is pretty basic, and the fireball attack was pretty annoying to use. The boss fights were pretty basic, although somewhat fun (besides that goddamn final boss). Nika killing basically everything that breathes really does make her unlikable quite a bit, although I guess in her defense, she argues she's making the world a better place, as convoluted as that logic is. The puzzles and platformers probably shouldn't have been in the game, with Pixel Island being one of my least favorite levels. Not to mention how the karmic decisions in the game were pretty weak, only really affecting one level and whether or not you'll get the main ending. But I still enjoyed the fun dialogue, and at least I could beat it unlike with Castle Crashers.
