pretty fun episode, i liked what you said about the setting being open enough to allow different GMs to fill the gaps with their own style

Mothership does a pretty good job of this too. Cloud Empress was neat in that it set up a powerful framework. Sometimes one of the things I struggle with are "discovered games" where people know a lot about the setting so it feels like you're not building anything.. Cloud Empress did a good job of giving an idea but not over discovering. Thank you!

Thanks for the Video, great as always. I feel that we need to give Mike another chance to try Mothership, I feel personally responsible for his bad experience. Cloud Empress looks like a fun setting, I need to find another way to get hold of the books, as postage to the UK is outrageous.

You should not feel responsible. I've badgered him about the fact its a horror game and the characters aren't heroic. Not to blame at all.. I think there's PDF's that are cheaper but yeah postage is a nutty thing.. Cloud Empress was really fun setting, also we really liked the Mothership game don't get me wrong, Mike has just been in a rash of more heroic games.. he doesn't have my hardened acceptance of failure as far as rolling. :P -brent-

Nice. Video, Ive got to dm mothership and play in another session. I feel like the system is rules light so you can homeroom so you can add a D 20 system for basic skills that isn’t under duress. I think there is a lot of potential for both of these systems. I personally can’t wait to try Empress. I’ve even thought of some homebrew classes to add a little bit more fantasy feel too.

It was a fun setting and I think the rules changes are and away enough to make it feel like a different game. The skills are neat, i liked the duress mechanic and how it worked. I'm a bad roller though so I'm of the "less dice rolls" is better camp lol The setting is neat too, different than others I've encountered. I also enjoy mothership but I'm pretty accepting of low powered characters struggling against the environment /baddy. Which I think Mothership excels at.. Thank you for the conversation and support!
