I‘m 49 I‘ve been a gamer since 1982. I‘ve seen so many great games but the older you get you‘ve seen everything already. There are very rare games like Elden Ring, Nioh 2, GTA SA, RE4 and BG3. Witcher 3 almost ruined everything else like Wow classic back then. The only game I rly liked this year was Indiana Jones. But only because of nostalgia. It felt like going home to the good old times.

@@SheepKid1 playing through it now since I got to it late. Yeah it’s surprisingly well made. Maybe not nier automata level. But it’s genuinely crazy how what was labeled a “gooner” game and the “culture war” game for early 2024,is actually a REALLY good game. It and Wukong surprised me(which was my GOTY this year,for new games that released this year that I actually finished).

My list of games that got me through 2024: Deep Rock Galactic (very good co-op game) Dark Souls I (in memory of this legendary game that turned the gaming industry on its head) Also I replayed Dark Souls III (basically, the sequel to Dark Souls I) Valheim (with my friend) Buckshot Roulette (a simple concept, but very fun to play, especially in multiplayer mode) For now I'm trying to complete Dark Souls II. But this will be the game that got me through 2024-2025.

Street Fighter Alpha 3 became my game of the year because it showed me how awesome fighting games can be. Since then I played SF III. 3rd Strike, X-Men vs Street Fighter, Marvel vs Capcom 1-2 and a few more.

I finally got to through to play The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk this year, they truly are a must play for anyone, both are amazing rpg's, and man, The Witcher 3's story and side quests are so good! The DLC for Elden Ring was also nutty and hyped up (the final boss did disappoint me a little), but I beat him before the patches rolled around so I feel proud. Looking forward to Nightreign
Beat Horizon ZD and the sequel. And the dlc on both. Beat Astro’s Playroom, Sea of Stars and The Final Shape. And Remnant 2: The Awakened King DLC. That’s my best yearly completion stats yet. But still the backlog grows!

My favorite artwork in the form of videogames... Battle Brothers ...tis a true work of art, crafted masterfully with grand skill & passion, filled with actual life & soul from the devs at Overhype... With keen, excellent writing honed by an expert that creates & expands the 'experience-r' into the world that Battle Brothers is set; one sets out to the great many avenues of tactics that are employable within a very satisfying turn-based combat system; played out to the very pretty painterly-brushwork art style; with soundly awesome use of individual character backgrounds & unique traits, all aid to create deep personal attachment to each man hired, & with endless replayability via all the randomization & procedural generation, every new world created & origin started with offers forth a new storyline every single time -- all rounded off with an outright EPIC score of the music that is right up there with other legendary scores such as Halo or Dying Light... It is a sandbox RPG, tactical turn based build-a-Mercenary Company, set in a low fantasy world that is very dangerous, a grim world of untamed wilderness; awaiting for one to brave its frontiers so as to carve out & endure through the thrilling & many dangerous challenges to be met. It is an assuredly supreme experience: simple to learn, very harder to master, infinitely fun... The early game is easily one of the most exciting, albeit highly challenging, experience for a gamer to embark upon. Battle Brothers is wrought with difficulty in an equally unforgiving world; a notably hardcore & tough time awaits; which thus makes an extremely rewarding time to be had - when things go well & great loot is obtained... There is little more satisfying than successfully coming out of a seemingly doomed fight, esp when great gear, perhaps even a famed item, is picked up from amongst the dead all around ... All aspects, mechanics, & available options in the game support the intention & vision the devs created without fail. (None of that "Ludo-dissonance stuff!) It is a rich game world, with grand possibilities sitting on an experience of utter wonder. Here gathers a community where DLC are so very fervently wished for-, where the players are most desirable to spend more money on further expansions of this game, to support the devs! The new music that comes with each DLC, most namely the Warriors of the North, is totally fantastic... In the Name of The Old Gods... The beating sounds of the drums & more is utter perfection when ones band rallies round' in a snowy tundra, facing down a horde of barbarians, clad in their fur armor, baring their teeth and wild weaponry... Having also spawned a beyond solid modding community, wherein hard work has pushed the scope of the game further into the immense potential Battle Brothers provides basis for. (The Legends mod alone ought have a review of its own!) Alright, I think my view is clear, aha... I could write / talk about Battle Brothers endlessly, if that wasn't obvious. -- Last Personal Notes / Conclusions-- The devs behind Battle Brothers are soon to be releasing their new game, MENACE, which I am obviously extremely keen for; especially in a time where allowance for "hype" toward new games has been stubbed out, so as to not have further disappointment...but I have allowed MENACE to be the exception, for I have strong belief in Overhype Studios to deliver a true game, a work of art, and NOT some soulless-corporate-service-time-consumer-BS... Anyways... If you couldn't tell, I quite seriously love Battle Brothers, and come back to play it over, and over, and... Oncemore, I digress. Battle Brothers is a genuine videogame; an actual work of ART, with soul, and beauty. Personally, it is THE game I'd dreamt of as a kid. Tis the perfect everything, and is definitely my #1 game for the rest of my time spent in this reality. A videogame, a real one, is a special thing. It holds the ability to blend the wonders of books and stories with the visuals of cinema, clasped together with an interactive buckle for a person to extend their own touch into it, which makes for a far more integrated & memorable experience.

With regards to BG3, I completely agree with you. It's a fantastic game, one of the best ever for sure. But it fails to crack into my Top 10 mostly due to the lackluster story and world. In contrast, Dragon Age Origins and DO2 (both in my Top 10) have really strong stories, and Thedas is far more intersting to me than Faerûn.
@NovemberHotel5 күн бұрын
Yeah the main story really keeps it out of my Top 10 as well but it's certainly close to being in there. Still haven't played the Dragon Age games but maybe I'll find some time to try them out this year.

@@NovemberHotel BG3 is basically Larian's take on Dragon Age. You can tell that Larian was heavily inspired by old Bioware (like how they did the companions). Just a heads up: If you do play the earlier Dragon Age games, make sure to use mods. Dragon Age Origins is especially broken without mods.

DD2 is pure ass bro. Most disappointing game of all time that I’ve ever played. Even surpassing ff15 and ff16 for me. Genuinely shocked how they decided “let’s take all the good from DD1,remove all of that,and make worse all the bad things from it”
@Gems564 күн бұрын
I've played over 400 hours in both dd1 and dd2 while the sequel was not a improvement in every way it is certainly not ass it does alot better then dd1 and in my opinion is better especially when you take bbi away from dd1.

@ it’s worse in every single conceivable way. It’s a step back in story,quests,choice,fashion,gameplay,endgame,monsters,NPCs,dialogue,music,performance,”dungeons”. Etc. so laughably bad. Especially archer now needed to waste the few skill slots on SKILLS being needed to equip certain arrow types? Less armor slots. Less weps. Less skills overall. Many skills and augments gone and funnily there was more useless ones than even DD1. Classes were somehow MORE unbalanced than DD1(thief could be literally invincible and have highest DPS,lol. Lmao even). No dungeons. All caves sucked. The end dungeon wasn’t even a real tower. lol. Lmao even. The dragon fight? lol. Lmao even. And he barely had any contribution to the story. Our “backstory?” Lol. Lmao even. I could go on for days about what a complete waste of time DD2 is. Worst game I’ve ever played.
