Remember in the book series (secret rings and black knight) the characters sonic meets are not his ACTUAL friends, they're the characters from their respective stories (Aladdin and King Author respectively) that just happen to take the form of sonic's friends (sonic has mistaken them to be his friends in both games only to immediately been told he's wrong).

After watching the video I had a theory. What if the playable Shadow in SxS Gens and the Shadow in base Gens are Shadows from different times. SxS Gens Shadow could be from some time after the events of Frontiers (explaining why Forces and Frontiers stages appear) and base Gens Shadow could be from the, at the time (2011), current Shadow. The Time Eater obviously messes with time, and from Classic Sonic and Tails perspective, they met their future selves. So it’s not to far fetch that Shadow (2024) met/fought 2011 Shadow, which could explain why in base Gens, Shadow asks Sonic if he’s the real one. I only thought of this because of the ending of the animation (and a little bit of assumption that TerminalMontage played/seen the intro/beginning of Shadows campaign), especially since it ends with “Continue the Adventure in…”.

6:26 That's Sir Lancealot, in Sonic and the Dark Knight Sonic is the only character from other games in there, but there are plenty of other characters that are the knights of the round table. Lancealot is Shadow, Gawain is Knuckles, Percival is Blaze and the two that don't appear in the game are Gallahad as Silver and one other whose name escapes me but is Jet. Tldr, it's a different continuity with a different name

Maybe you could make a vid on this but two things: 1. Sonic Battle canonically after Shadow ‘05?? 2. Is the Shadow in Shadow Generations from a post-Frontiers part of the timeline??? Evidence for point 2: Chaos Island (obviously) and Classic Sonic represents past and Modern Sonic represents present. The speedrunning through Shadow’s journey brings us all the way through to Forces and Murder of Sonic…and the Time Eater technically controls all time.
