The thing about Terminal Montage and his videos is that his series "Something about _" is loosely depicted. So things like him not showing Maria's death or him running along side Sonic on Radical Highway (which was a boss fight in 3DS Generations) are just more for fun quick up to speed thing, not a retcon.

I think they sponsored Something about Sonic 2 as well. I think Sega is just the first major company to recognize TM’s popularity and *officially* give him their blessing to make videos with their games, rather than make everything about his Sonic videos completely canon/lore accurate. His whole channel is great though. I feel like the only *real* input Sega probably had was censoring some of the “violence” like Maria being killed and Shadow using a realistic gun in his solo game. But TM is a largely kid-friendly channel so he may have decided to that himself as well. 🤷‍♂️

It makes sense that Sonic Battle takes place after Shadow The Hedgehog because Shadow has his memories in that game and it couldn't take place after heroes because he didn't know who he truly was

​​@@lukasruston8618It has bothered me that some people thought Battle wasn't canon just or just thought wasn't worth looking into because apparently spinoff fighting game. But yeah Advance series is clearly canon since otherwise Cream nor Vanilla wouldn't have had any proper introduction would have been jarring otherwise seeing them in Heroes and Rush (briefly for the mom) respectively without one. And then you got Emerl to Gemerl clearly by namesake and appearance based off of plus final boss music for Gemerl has a ominous remix of the Emerl's theme also ironic that Eggman who played a role Emerl's death is now the one who has to team up with Sonic to put a stop to the lookalike robot and as a result in a way making up for his past transgression results in that robot being saved. Then you have Gemerl who if it is actually Emerl gets his happy ending since he lives with Cream who he arguably had the most impactful relationship with in learning from the other being Shadow given their origins.

Gemerl is like the second coolest robot Eggman has made right under Metal Sonic and it was confirmed that Tails reprogrammed him after Advance 3 so it definitely makes sense for him to appear again.

Either way, this was a funny n genius move on the team’s part lol. Btw think of Terminal vids as Sonic Boom to where it’s just a parody rather than canon. To clear things up a bit, things like guns and Maria's death was censored due to comedy and Sonic team being more hesitant to put "Shadow" and "Guns" in the same room ever since... "The '05 Incident". Most of the stuff here is canon though like Sonic Battle is very important to Shadow's actual lore and is official, but some things like the Storybook games side modes, tennis, and the cart racer are all non canon and just here to fill time and be funny.

Miiiight be taking it a little too seriously. lol I think what it is was they liked this person's videos and wanted them to do one about Shadow and the only reviewing they needed to do was make sure it wasn't offensive or grossly misrepresenting. Otherwise I think they are just making up stuff to be funny and I see no reason why SEGA supporting fans creating stuff means that every detail of it has to be official or canon. lol It's interesting tho. I did speculate Battle could take place after Shadow The Hedgehog, but it's never been stated. If so, it would clearly have to be a retcon to fix mistakes, and it would work out too. But they've never said it. So I always assumed the fan base would disagree with me. So not only does it make me happy that this animator placed it that way too but also finding out that other fans also think this way??? I also speculated that CD could make a lot of sense being before Sonic 1, but I don't think people really agree with me on that since being between 1 and 2 is popular and Origins SUPPOSEDLY confirms it's place there by listing it in that order (but not in story in any way apparently). So the way I see it, Sonic CD is a pace-breaking detour in the storyline if it's not before Sonic 1. Oh well.

Ya, I originally thought Shadow was on the Arc but the hype made me a bit slow. And I love dude's vids so I think Time Eater getting Shadow and drag him to the ARC makes sense since its where he originally started from(well not first stage but u get what I'm saying), then from the SGF trailer when we saw Rail Canyon and Kingdom Valley for the first time, we saw Shadow was blinded by light so that could've indicate after Time Eater disappeared and THEN start us off from the demo since we had introduction on controls. 🤔
