I agree with Justin. I'm the exact opposite of Christian, as I've gotten older I've moved further and further away from multiplayer and now pretty much only play single player games. I just don't enjoy the mindlessness and sometimes outright ignorance/stupidity that accompanies most multiplayer experiences.

I once purchased a used copy of Final Fantasy X on PS2 way back in the day from my local Gamestop that had in game glitches because of physical damage to the disc. For those who don't know, early 3D Final Fantasy games had different character models of varying quality for in battle, in cutscene, and during exploration. In my particular case, what ever segment of the disc that contained the in-cutscene models was damaged so overworld Tidus would load in every scene T-posing and just sliding around where his character would normally walk. Another time, my copy of Left 4 Dead 2 on Xbox 360 had a big ol' crack in it that caused certain wall textures to not load and instead where replaced with the textures of the Tank zombies skin. It was gross and awesome. I kinda miss when the janky days of scratched game discs.

It occurs to me for Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart we still don't have a proper trailer for the game, they showed 2 vertical slices of the game, but not a proper storyline trailer - Insomniac also did the same thing for Miles Morales, where a storyline trailer for the game wasn't released until close to the game's release. On games being combined, I thought of Sonic Mania, while this wasn't a combination of the original Sonics it was an amalgamation of them.

Wow, Prehistorik's being re-released... I rememer playing P1 and P2 on our crummy 286 (386) PCs during Computer Classes in 1994/1995. Never completed it but it looked awesome to us, the 12-13 year old kids from Croatia with extremely low access to hardware/software at the time... I really don't like 9-10-$, but now I'm really contemplating buying a Switch for myself and my nieces...

On the topic of single player versus the multiplayer experience I’ve noticed I don’t finish many of the great single player games out there just because as I’ve gotten older life has gotten more complex and gets in the way. I was playing out of work loving it grad school classes got in the way. I started the final fantasy seven remake loved it I mean it was like walking back down memory lane and seeing all the great sites again just knew I was going to finish it. Life got in the way again. I started horizon zero Don not once twice got justice for both times roughly 50% through both times stopped because life got in the way. This is happened again and again and again for a great video game tiles. I still love that I bought them I cherish the money I spent on them and I would gladly buy them again or sequels but life just gets in the way. Then when I think about returning to those titles I don’t remember what was going on with the combat mechanisms things that are important to the game I can’t easily get back into it so I say well I guess I’ll leave that along. Perhaps even worse there are games I want to start that are on my game pass subscription right now I won’t start them because I know I don’t have enough time to finish them I want to start control this weekend and I’ve said that for the past several weekends I haven’t just because life gets in the way.

I think the Six Days in Fallujah guys are geniuses... regardless of how we may feel about the topic of the game, they appear to have a pretty solid defense for it, in that they interviewed the people who lived through it, and apparently both soldiers and residents at that. If they paid those people for those interviews, which I imagine they did, then even better, because then they can simply say "this game supported the veterans and the families that lived through this horror, and they are vouching for it's autheticity and value, what have the critics done for those people and what do they know about the event?". And the controversy is just free publicity. Not saying I like the fact that this game is coming out. Just saying that whatever happens with it, it may have put some good into the world either way. Now, if they did not pay the people they interviewed... then, imho, horrible...

Ubisoft hasn’t been making the best decisions in the last few years. This was evident with how badly Ghost Recon Breakpoint was received and Watch Dogs: Legion was so forgettable. Assassin’s Creed is still one of my favorite franchises to date so I’m not excited about a games as a service version of it. They need to stop trying to come up with gimmicks to please investors and just continue to make incredible games that sell. Consumers spending money should make them happy.

Come on sam no where in that Ubisoft call did they say no more single player games. To me it means Ubisoft will support games like the Division 2 and Hyperscape much longer then just a year or 2. It makes sense. I mean let’s look at this year for Ubisoft. As of right now there is one big AAA release, FC6. AC will get dlc and will be supported for most of the year. I’m sure WD Legion too. Maybe even Immortal gets extended dlc. But right there is 2 of Ubisoft’s biggest franchises without a release for at least a year. Probably longer for WD. AC has went to a 2 year release window. Ubisoft backing their f2p and on going games makes sense. I mean Ubisoft has already jump into the f2p on mobile. I take this as Ubisoft expanding and going into other game genres. Nowhere does it say Ubisoft will stop making single player games. Especially since single player games is their bread and butter.

That is the problem actually. Read to play games are the gold standard if you can hit one out of the park everyone looks at the numbers and the numbers tell you the best game out there the most popular the most moneymaking game out there is Fortnite. Hands-down nobody comes close. Now if you dig into a Ubisoft catalog can you look at your games and you look at which games are making them not only money but doing it at the least amount of cost. It’s ratio how much money do you make me how much money does this game cost me to make. Why would you have to put on a new game every five years in the series typically that can get expensive and you compare that to making one game let’s say rainbow six siege and allowing it to be free to play. Look at how the long tail of that game has worked out. Yes they had to develop the game that cost lots of money but over time it’s become cheaper and cheaper to develop for meanwhile it’s making more money than ever. So as it becomes cheaper to develop for and you make even the same amount of money your profit actually go up. Meanwhile you can go make this new game and you have to hope it’s a hit. That’s the dilemma they are facing. Now of course you have another problem when you go free to play now everybody wants to play that type of game some of us myself included love the single player experience and we will go for those and if you don’t have one we just won’t buy your stuff
