This looks like sooooooo much fun. I remember playing the original ghosts and goblins in the arcade when I was 7 years old and own Ghouls and ghosts on Super Nintendo.

The one on SNES is the third in the series (2nd sequel). Capcom USA has messed up the names to a point they don't make sense: the original are Makai Mura (Arcade), Dai Makai Mura (Arcade) and Chou Makai Mura (SNES). Makai Mura means Demon World Village, which make more sense than Capcom USA's "Random Type of Monster and Another Type of Monster" names.

This looks like a Beats of Rage mod. I was involved in the modding scene back in the mid-00's and remember the name "BonusJZ" as one of the active modders. If I'm right and this is said engine, that engine sure has come a long way!

It's a complete overhaul of the WonderSwan version-and it even uses sprites both arcade games as well as from Super G'nG. The Chimera is taken from Magic Sword.

I'm not sure to what extent that's a trend. I think these are just taken in chunks from the twitch stream based on planned timeslots. Also they're usually good about sticking timestamps in the description (which admittedly doesn't help on most streaming devices).

Tiamat and other boss monster sound affect all come from King of Dragons on the SNES. When you beat the first phase that hissing sound is from the idle sounds from the dragons, from that game, as well the defeat sound is also the same when you kill of a dragon.

I am a bit disappointed with this game's final boss. I'd have rather seen a revamped Sardius / Samael.

Have you seen any of his more recent runs? He's all in on King mode (the ultimate challenge he mentions at the end), now. Traditional GnG two loops, nails-hard, and Azazel is *not* the last boss. :)

this game looks tight and all, but seriously, why's it in a Game Boy Advance-like resolution rather than at least an SNES-like one? And what's with the forced scanlines? And why do so many assets look ripped straight from the 16-bit GnG installments, making the unique sprites like the bosses look like they don't even fit in the game?

Thanks for the latest link of the game. The double jump is SNES style, but I'm loving the new weapon thing. Genesis has way better graphx (Turbo Graphx 16, LOL) than SNES. I see I should be donating, and one of my favourites is the Super Metroid God/Godess Red....Red something. The most important game to be sped run with 100%. Anyways, back to money (donations), I need to warm up to you...
