Gamesir Nova Lite after 3 months. A review.

Bought this thing for 555 petot, best buy for a PC peripheral. The only problem I had with this before was the firmware, glad I had found a solution. Now I can play on PC wired or wireless and on mobile too, working on CODM.

Thanks for your video! I appreciate a lot. I'm from Russia and I had quite a delicate choice to do recently😂 here this model costs around 1750 roubles. But t4 kaleid could be bought for 2850 roubles. Kaleid has hall effect triggers with no dead zones beside sticks and the app can recognize it. But it's wired. And I play older racing games on my laptop and don't like wires😂 it was hard, but I ended up choosing nova. Hope I'll like it...

@NoodleCDS here I am with a little report of mine😹 I received and tried nova light. Great gamepad! Previously I've been using gamesir t3s model. Overall good, but more dualshock like design so I still have to get accustomed to the xbox one of the newer model. T3s triggers had like 40% deadzone. Nothing like that with t4 nova light! Left trigger has a little one, the right one almost nothing (I had to try several times to notice). T4 definitely has more grip to the hands. I think I have some questions, hopefully you don't mind answering. Have you tried to connect ur gamepad to ur PC via Bluetooth? My laptop doesn't recognize it properly :( If u connect via receiver - you also have two devices in the gamepads list (win+r -> joy.cpl)? That zero deadzone mode for the sticks - is it meant to prologue the lifespan significantly or I can more or less carelessly use it? Also I've noticed we have same mouse model😹 PS. Merry Christmas!

hey thank you for reporting back! i really appreciate it and i absolutely don't mind answering your questions! 1. no, my PC doesn't have a bluetooth adapter so i can't connect my controller using that. there might be a separate driver you need to install for bluetooth to work? i'm not familiar with any fixes for that. 2. yes, there are two controllers that appear when i look through joy.cpl. in device manager though it only shows up as one controller. weird. 3. i don't think it can prolong the lifespan on your sticks/controller so you can keep them on. i think it's just there as a quality-of-life feature. i love my MX518! it makes me happy knowing that there are still other people out there that has this mouse. it's my favorite and i wouldn't trade it for anything else. sorry i couldn't reply sooner, i was out visiting family and i hope you had a great christmas!

​@@NoodleCDS initially I was dubious whether to write at such time, but it's internet and people can answer when they're comfortable too, so I "dared" :D Hope ur trip and meeting the relatives went well! My Christmas was good as well :D Here I partly answer to ur answers and partly provide newly found information: 1) I have a laptop and typically they have built-in adapters, but regardless - they all need drivers of course. Somehow t3s is recognized and t4 nova light isn't. It's not a big problem for me cuz I will play via receiver anyways... But what surprised me is that the dead zones u get for sticks on a t4 with no 'zero dead zones mode' are roughly same as on t3s connected to laptop via bluetooth. Via receiver t3s has also the zero ones on the latest firmware. However as I said previously t3s has 40% dead zones for triggers anyway. That's a mechanical thing I suppose. 2) Two controllers popping up refers to two input modes as I got it. X input and legacy input for the older games. By pressing the advanced settings you can pick which "device" to use for the older games in joy.cpl 3) ChatGPT answer for this was funny🤣it was like: "Normally the most of tear and wear to the sticks comes from larger movements with much force applied, but micro movements bring their share as well. If you want to reduce the tear and wear from the mico movements you can add dead zones". 4) And here the additional one. Maybe useful to you, maybe to ur viewers or whoever asks... In reviews some people were writing that their gamepad stopped connecting to devices after they updated firmware. In such a case a man should just read the manual attentevely. There's an extra connection mode reserved for firmware uploads and all a man needs to do is to reset the connection with home+screenshoot buttons combo and then connect with the chosen connectivity mode (home +a/b/x/y). Sorry for the wall of text. The mouse is really outstanding! I've got the older one, straight from 2000s :D Still works! I was glad to find another person also using it and looks like they reintorduced the model in 2018. Nice!

I really enjoyed with your video! I just wanted to ask you for some help. I bought Nova light 2 weeks ago and from the first day it was super cool and everything working. it did not finished firmware update and after that some problems appeared: - R2 stopped working - and, Red light now works on phone (in the begining it was for switch). I just dont know how to do a factory reset? also, generally how do you make changes from manual? seems like a hard task for me. Thx a lot!

if you turn your controller around, you'll see a small hole below found at the lower side of it. use a needle to press and hold it for 5 seconds. i've never updated my controller because it works fine as it is so if you try and update it again, please try finishing it. for the manual, zoom in to your preferred language because it's really small. the english manual is in the first page and in the left most side.

I love this controller too: feel more expensive than the price tag though I i can't connect to the dongle, IDK why

@@SupaaManix try resetting your controller's pairing by holding the home and screenshot button down for 3 seconds and then when it starts flashing quickly, press the button on the dongle. also possible that it's turning on in bluetooth mode or something. refer to the manual for the full instructions!

I like this controller but my hand hurts for days after I use it. I think the handles are too wide and short for me

oh that's a shame. pretty sure Gamesir makes their controllers in this one size except for the Tarantula because that one has a PS layout.

@@VishwaHiranya if you play games that rely on the D-pad then i wouldn't recommend it, otherwise this controller is absolutely the best for the price. if you're looking for a solid all-around PC controller check out the Logitech F310

How do you get the software to work on ur pc mine says no gamesir controller detected

if you mean the Gamesir app i don't think this controller is compatible with it. only the higher end ones are detected on the app because they have programmable buttons and RGB. otherwise, the controller is plug and play no need for extra drivers on the multiple PCs i've tried this on.

@NoodleCDS man at this point it doesn't seem like there's a budget controller I can afford rn with a decent d pad cause even the 8bitdo ultimate 2c PPL say it has a pretty bad dpad

@@ice_997 it might be an issue with your controller. if it's still under warranty, i recommend you contact Gamesir so they can send you a replacement
