Ben! Read the damn cards better :P The Loxodon puts the +1/+1 counters on the creatures that helped to convoke it, not on itself. Still love you guys though, more magic is more better!

Just so you know he couldn't have made a sapling that turn. Convoke doesn't grant coloured mana, so he needed to use a white mana to cast it. He used all his white already but he could have reconned since he didn't need to use all white for the previous spell, this would also result in one less convoked creature for the loxodon effect

@@lucasverawow Ben convoked the Loxodon correctly, but he just messed up the counters onto the incorrect creature(s). Ben can convoke with any untapped creatures regardless of summoning sickness. The convoke is tapping the creatures, the creatures aren't tapping themselves. Also his tapped Selesnya Guildmage can tap to produce the white mana needed while his saproling tokens would produce green or generic mana.

Saying "Untap, Upkeep, Draw" at the start of your turn is the best way to remember to draw your card for the turn. Some jackasses may not let you after you start your Main phase

Drawing a card is State based. It’s not a trigger. So it can be done at any point. It’s just most advantageous to do it after upkeep.

Whatever jackass didn't allow you to draw after you missed it doesn't know how to play magic. Drawing for your turn isn't a may, not is it skippable. You have to draw a card during your turn. If the error was found during the current turn cycle(your turn, their turn is a cycle) you get to draw, otherwise you have to play on as the game would of progressed to far to fix it.

@@dustynattaway5669 No. Drawing a card (for your turn) is a phase based action. The Untap Step, Upkeep, Draw step, First Main phase, Combat(assign attackers, blockers, last chance for priority to be held to cast instant speed interaction spells, combat damage goes through), Second Main phase, endstep, cleanup. Not allowing you to draw on an incorrect step may appear rude, however, That's how the game is played. If you skip a step, you don't repeat it. You may actually get a warning if it's at a tournament for missing your trigger (because you may have done this intentionally to counteract a strategy such as lantern control/insert mill/disruption based deck here).

Venerated Loxodon adds a 1/1 counter ON each of all the creatures used to convoke it and not onto Venerated Loxodon but this was a great informative duel. :-)

A creature that is tapped for a convoke can also be used to pay for one mana of any of its colours. So Ben's guildmage could be tapped for green or white and the saprolings could be tapped for green.

No it doesn't. Any Coloured Creature that is tapped for Convoke will provide 1 Mana of one of its Colours. So White/Green Creatures can be Convoked for either 1 White or 1 Green mana.
