Alright, I’m going to um actually some of the science. 1) GFP only fluoresces in the presence of arabinose, a type of sugar. Without arabinose GFP will not fluoresce. 2) GFP fluoresces, it doesn’t glow. In my experience the fluorescence is only visible under a UV light. 3) GFP is a protein, the DNA encoding GFP does not glow at all. The gene must be in an organism capable of producing protein and in the presence of arabinose sugar.
