Here Are The Steps to Fix DaVinci Resolve Video Not Showing in Timeline
Method 1
1. Close DaVinci Resolve
2. Click Start Menu
3. Click Settings
4. Click System
5. Click Display
6. Scroll Down Until You Find Graphics Settings
7. Click Graphics Settings
8. Make Sure Desktop app is Selected From Dropdown Menu
9. Click Browse Button
10. Click This PC
11. Open C Drive
12. Open Program Files Folder
13. Open Blackmagic Design Folder
14. Open DaVinci Resolve Folder
15. Scroll Down Until You Find Resolve
16. Select Resolve
17. Click Add Button
18. Click Options
19. Click High Performance
20. Click Save Button
21. Close Settings
22. Open DaVinci Resolve
23. Now Import The Video
24. Done!
Method 2
1. If You Are Using NVIDIA Graphic Card Download Drivers From This Link:- www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/...
2. Download GeForce GeForce Experience
3. You Can Also Manually Search Graphics Driver
4. If You Are Using AMD Graphic Card Download Drivers From This Link:- www.amd.com/en/support
5. Auto-Detect Graphics Driver
6. Manually Search Graphics Driver
7. If You Are Using Intel Graphic Card Download Drivers From This Link:- www.intel.in/content/www/in/e...
8. Download Intel Driver & Support Assistant
9. I Am Using NVIDIA Grphics Card So I am Using GeForce Experience To Update My Drivers
10. login To Your Nvidia Account If You Dont Have You Can Create It
11. Click Drivers
12. Click Check For Updates
13. Click Download
14. Wait For Download To Finish
15. Click Express Installation
16. Open DaVinci Resolve
17. Now Import The Video
18. Done!

Okay so I have an mp4 video file which does show up in the media pool as perfectly normal. But when I drag and drop/import it into my timeline, instead of considering it as a video, it only gets dropped into the audio tracks as an audio file and there's no video visible. I have Resolve version 16. Can anyone help asap because I am going mad and no tutorials seem to address such kind of an issue anywhere. Please help

So i figured out my mess; there could be multiple things that could be clicked by mistake.. in my case the video track was not activated..you need to click on the track name (V1/V2 whatever) and they should be activated and not appear white...another thing to check is that position lock should be off, or else you are not able to add files onto the desired tracks..

If you have already done all this and use vlc media player and it’s still not working. Take all the footage and physically convert it to mp4 in VLC media player even if it is already mp4 then it should work.
