I got a question for you a year later (lol) what does it mean if you do the twitch bandwidth test and NONE of the servers have a quality of 80 or higher. In fact, most have 0... for some reason. And nothing is reaching 10000+kbps. My streams keep disconnecting and I don't know what to do. Thanks if you get back to me about this! And thanks for making awesome videos, dude!

The only thing I can tell you is I changed my encoder to NVENCH (my graphics card) in my Settings > Output for both streaming and recording and it's helped a lot! Haven't done this bandwidth test since tho so I don't know if the numbers have improved but my stream disconnects less.

This was awesome!!! I am suggesting this tutorial to everyone that asks for help with a little addition when testing the bandwidth. Save the link to this video on your favorites, apply the settings you have in OBS and close it as well as any other programs or apps running on your computer. Run the bandwidth test, as stated in the video, you will get a true reading of what you bandwidth is, IMO.

I just recently got myself a nice gaming PC (i7-7700k / GTX 1080 / 32gb RAM) and an Oculus Rift + Touch and I am starting a channel to stream Elite: Dangerous in VR on Twitch. I have been messing with OBS to figure out what to do and I really appreciate how this video didn't so much just say "hey, do this, then this, then this, etc" but that you explained what different things do and what would be best *based on my setup*. This has helped me a lot actually, I'm aware it's outdated but it's still helpful. Helped me figure out what bitrate I should stream at along with the resolution. I also disabled the auto and strictly just connect to one server now. I'm aware that it probably connects to that one anyway but this ensures it. Thank you for the help :)

Gaming Careers I am a 30 year old disabled u.s. army vet. I am not severely physicaly disabled thankfully but it is extremely difficult for me to get out of my house and impossible for me to interact with people period. Beeing able to stream is one of the very few ways I am able to openly interact with people outside of my immediate family and it's been my dream for over 2 years to get a powerful enough pc and start a stream. after scrounging pinching pennies and saving I finally got a very good deal on an i7 6700 refurbished pc and am finally able to realize my dream. This video condensed about a dozen other videos I watched into 1 convenient and extremely easy to follow tuttorial. I may have been able to set it up without finding this but it was a lot more difficult and irritating and to not have to suffer that stress is invaluable beyond measure to me. I can't tell you how much it means to me on several levels now that I think more deeply about it, so I stand by my original statement more resolute than before. Thank you for all the hard work and I hope the channel continues to grow infinitely. You deserve it. You're hard work is evident in the final product and it is more than appreciated. Ok my long winded self satisfying biography is over and I apologize for it. I just wanted to convey my thanks to you through my eyes.

The video is ever so slightly out of date I think, there were some differences between the OBS I downloaded and the screens he was showing. However, they were close enough that I was streaming within 10 minutes of finishing the video! Excellent tutorial!
