I bought the quest 2 from a yard sale. The device had not been updated for a while and I tried updating it and had no idea about said issue, my device kept on restarting and then when I went through the boot menu and restarted the device it just bricked itself. I contacted support and told them that I had no warranty I had bought this from a guy and all I did was try and update it, they told me to be patient that they are working on an update and yesterday they told me to send in the device that they’ll send me one that was refurbished and give me $50 store credit so I can’t complain tbh lol

Bought my son a new 3 for Christmas, he played up until yesterday 30th; the update sent his brand new 3 into the update loop and black screen. Rather than send it back, I returned it to Target for a replacement. It’s not just Quest 2. Also the 3 I purchased is at 72 with no issues. On a side note, the first 3 I purchased for me the Sunday before Christmas had the boundary issue. The cameras would spiral and never set a boundary. It was returned to Target and replaced. As a director of technology, I am confident in my abilities and this wasn’t something that should have happened. QC on hardware and firmware is a real issue with Meta. Also addressing the issues seems to be a problem.

I recommend Undead Citadel for any swords enthusiasts who liked the collision in Swordsman VR. I just cant do swords games with robotic enemies and little to no collision. This one had my heart pumping and had me sparring with some enthusiasm. That's when I remembered that these new controllers could track overhead and behind the back movement. That's when I started doing my full sword form for the first time in a vr game.

Dude. Does anyone else have a broken “connections tab” (friends list) on their quest? Everytime I try to invite someone, my friends list is broken, says something went wrong and closes or just loads forever…. Makes inviting people an absolute nightmare

That's literally the problem with Pimax as a company. Their business model is always "sell the next headset" instead of fixing the stuff they are about to release. Never mind that their systems are tied to use other peoples systems/controllers/base stations. That added to their price, and the fact majority of their users have tons of issues, makes me want to stay away.

I have the pimax crystal and it's the best headset I've ever had by far and I have about 7. His claims that pimax never delivers is just false. They have put out about 7 headsets with only one failing to come to market because of complications with lenses l, wilhich is the 12k. Some of the things they tried didn't work out but most did. This happens when your innovating. All the features work on my pimax crystal so he just lied whe. He said they don't. To be so pesimistic is sad and he's just mad they they don't mess with him anymore and I don't blame them, because he's being dishonest. How about I t he talks about the thousands of people who love and are enjoying the pimax headsets. Pimax is the primary company pushing pc vr so he should be more supportive. When the Super comes out and the Air out, let's see if he has the balls to tell how great they are.

Turn off auto-updates until Meta sorts out their issue. I have 2 friends that are stuck in boot-loop after an update last week. It’s a known issue. None of the features added in an update are worth bricking the device.

As an early backer in the first years of Pimax and their promises, i made my own slogan/saying: "Pimax Anticlimax" its says it all. Just do NOT fall for their marketing and promises. I am since the CV1 a happy Oculus/Meta user. I know who Zuck is, but Meta offers the best bang for the buck and keeps innovating and has brought VR to a wide public and with that, games are more and more maturing, Personally, i can never go back to flatscreen anymore, since a few years :) It's my honest opinion...

Vail has stepped up, still make a few bad moves occasionally but overall the game itself is getting better and better, new prestiges, good looking skins, etc. If we are going off of purely gameplay and no history of the company it is a very very good VR game, company is all good people too but their history is still there

I was one of the lucky ones, updated fine. I was on PTC though. I did have one issue where it thought everything even the store was uninstalled, lol. Reboot twice fixed that... *shrug* even got another update with some more UI stuff yesterday. Good for me :)

This has been upheld by federal courts, and violations in the form of refusing to comply with a valid warranty claim should by reported to the Bureau of Consumer Protection.

They’re not even the same concept. Q3 is meant to be stand-alone, which the psvr cannot do… once tethered for PCVR, the Q3 is superior in every way.

Right now Ive been having Meta link cable disconnects from the dev hub. As well As charging issue Disconnects as well on the quest 3. Version 72. In the Meta Dev hub It shows my headset and says Status Unknown. Started having the issues after update.

not the headset, but i used the quest pro controllers on the q3, i always had an issue with the triggers touch sensors acting like my finger is on the trigger when im not, but recently they got an update and completely bricked, wont track at all, i got them working for 5 minutes, and they stopped tracking again

the bits about Meta support giving credit is real but no need to be extra bitchy - stay classy and you will get it anyway. Also -if your headset is really brick meaning - no matter what you do it do not turn on - there is NOTHING you or meta can do im afraid- They will either replace parts in it or give you a new one. That happened to me with a samsung watch last december (2023) - update like normal and boom brick. We were hundreds who experienced that. Took a week they had to replace the watch motherboard.

My Quest 3 has been having serious problems for the past year. Pretty much every time I turn it on, I am not able to click on anything, and therefore have to restart the headset. The menu constantly disappears, the headset often completely crashes and my boundary often becomes super blurry for no reason. And whenever I full-screen a tab it darkens my room in mixed reality for no reason, and I need to turn it back up.

Funny, the v62 update ruined mine and many other quest 3's with a water/debris in the charge port error constantly popping up. They replaced my headset with a refurbished one that has a 💩ton of dead pixels. And now here we are with v72 update killing headsets. Can't wait to see what v82 is going to do🤔. Ever notice that any game that is developed with the intention of being an eSport title almost always fails to develop the kind of audience necessary for that to actually happen? Games become eSport titles because people love playing the game enough that they're willing to watch professionals playing it. They don't become eSport titles just because the developers dropped $100K on a tournament. I think the developers of Vail have completely missed that fact though, as they've been talking about Vail as an eSport title since before it even launched. Investing in that company is basically gambling, and it's not even good odds. Pimax reminds me of a lot of Chinese hardware companies that I've dealt with over the decades as a PC reseller. They focus on specifications, rather than actual quality. It reminds me of back in the 00s when these Chinese companies would try to get us to sell speakers that they rated at >500W, but then if you actually sit down and listen to them, they hum constantly, they have tinny sound, and the subwoofer rattles. We'd complain and say "hey, these things sound like crap, I can't sell this" and they'd just go "push the fact that it's got 550W of power, don't talk about the other stuff". Pimax is like that for headsets. "Check out this 8K resolution, check out this 200 degree FOV, don't talk about the warping at the edges, the sluggish responsiveness of the tracking, or the fact that our software is garbage".

@@norfolknwhey4787 I've delt with support a few time and have had NO issues. Also I love my Crystal head set and have had no dead pixels. I did have an issue but it got handled with no hastle. I went through 3 Varjo headset, with all of them having problems and the crystal came along and replaced it and I 've been good every sense. I have may headsets and My Crystal super will be the next when it arrives this month. Where is the Deckard head set, an no other pc based headset compares. The quest 3 is ok for what it is, but for pc vr, My crystal mops the floor with my Quest 3 and any other headset that I have.

Meta broken? Lucky I don't have one. We don't need another competitive shooter, we need good adventure and story games. I have had a Pimax 8KX for years, it's a great headset, works fine for me and it caters for my 75mm IPD. Yes, Pimax is a bit full of BS, you need to wait at least 1 year before buying a new model. I went for Pimax because I started with Vive and Vive Pro, both went to 74mm IPD and I could use them fine, when I went for an upgrade, the Vive Pro 2, HP Reverb G2, Quest and Index all had too small IPD adjustment, less than 68mm, which was unusable for me. The 8KX was the only headset that worked for me, it went to 70mm manual IPD, then had software to get to 75mm and the lenses had a big enough sweet spot to make them playable. I also have a PSVR2, which I use on the PS5 and PC, it also caters for 75mm IPD and I think it is a fantastic headset. I have not tried a Meta Quest 3, I know the blurb says it caters for large IPD's, but in the past I have found Quest headsets to have too small face plate, designed for small or narrow heads, uncomfortable. I'm always connected to my PC or PS5, I don't need the stand alone function. I also don't want to support Meta, because of them wanting to take over everything VR and insisting on exclusive games. I know I have made this comment before on your videos, and I will continue to highlight this problem with Meta.

Yeah gotta love how meta breaks the quest 3 on almost every single update, especially airlink. Everytime i start having issues its always thier crap software that they dont ever fully test before release and the fact it acts like it needs to update every single time you shut the dang thing off. Just gets annoying at this point since i never have problems with virtual desktop. The most recent one broke the start up where controllers dont register sometimes and the guardian wouldnt seem to stay in place n would raise up off the floor and shift randomly. Not to mention airlink kept lagging/artifacting when move head back n forth to point airlink was completely unusuable. This point I completely gave up on airlink at this point (again for like the 4th or 5th time) cause its always just garbage. Just sick of their lazy and greedy ethics. Still not to happy the 512gb now costs what i paid for 128gb. They should of never made the 128 to begin since obviously they over charged n coulda done it from the get go. Not going to even get started on thier accessories

It's not just the Quest 3. My Quest 2 only worked flawlessly the first week I had it. After the first software update I've had multiple issues with each subsequent update they release. This has been going on since 2020 or 2021. I don't remember when I bought it.

Major updates still dropping, adding more modes, maps, features, weapons. We just got all of that all over again. So what's the issue at this point? Vail has hit 100k login mark in a single month which is a big success for a VR title. Remember, still niche.

Apple had to stop the IOS 18 update because it was bricking the new M4 Ipads. Microsoft recently destroyed several PCs with the latest update. What ecosystem do you want to use ? Or are you just anti-meta for some reason ? Those thing happen. No one likes them, but they happen to all brands.
