Love my 10 shot Gamo Swarm. First bought a Umerex Octane nitro piston? After 50 shots the gas leaked out and it wouldent shoot any more. Took back to Cabela and they told me to call Umarex. Called and they said probably couldent help me. If I wanted to take it apart and ship it to them they would look at it. Put it in the corner and bought a Gamo. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. BUY THE GAMO!!!!

I purchased this sir rifle for fun shooting. I installed a 22 cal rifle scope on it. I could not get good groups. I replaced it with a 3X9 variable air force scope. After locking it down and shooting groups I zeroed it at 35 yards. It drives tacks with the gamo red 17 7 pellets. I can knock the heads off sparrows at 35 yds. At 50 yards I'm penetrating slider shells. I am very impressed with this air rifle. It is very accurate!! 😍

You're not missing with the .177, the pellets are falling out of the mag and you're shooting air. I've learned to hear the difference. I have both the .22 and the .177 swarm Maxxims as well and I have this same issue with the .177. Gamo even sent me a replacement 10X system for mine which I put on the gun and the same thing persists. The plunger in the reloader seems to be just a bit too short to seat the pellet fully into the .177's breach. I actually have a customer support entry with Gamo as of today about this and I'm waiting for them to reply to me. Look around and you'll find mashed up pellets on the ground that were crushed between the barrel breach and the rear portion of the rifle. Great video

@megastick93243 жыл бұрын
Actually, to get good comparisons one should shoot the most common weights in each caliber. Stepping one way up or down to make the weights the same is a faulty comparison. The 22 shoots almost double the weight of the 177, that’s not a good comparison. Select pellets in the range normally used and compare accuracy of each. Comparing a .45 with a 230gr bullet to a 9mm that would shoot 115-147 gr and asking either to match up would be the same idea. One will be way out of its zone.

I have the .177 and I've tried lashing the thing down to my Caldwell to minimize PRE-coil hoping for tighter groups and better accuracy, to NO avail. The pre-coil is just inherent with this type of discharge mechanism in the .177and nothing can be done about it. It looks like the "lighter" .22 doesn't exhibit the same issue though as your video comparison shows. I'm stuck with it being what it is. Maybe premium pellets would help but probably not much since the problem really seems to be the discharge mechanism and is a rifle problem, not the pellets. Thanks for the video.

Gamo should take their under lever cocking CFR and engineer into this rifle a 10 shot magazine into it making a .177 and .22 calibers. The Gamo CFR has amazing feature in its stock and are incredible accurate because of their fixed barrels. These rifles will not suffer from barrel droop over time like all the break barrel rifles. also there would be no magazine interference with the sights on the rifle because the magazine and loading mechanisms would be internal. More steel is removed producing the rifling on the ,22 which results in the slight weight difference.

I have a gamo magnum and it shoot terrible.. its all over the place..i'm hoping it shoots better after a couple hundred pellets. I've tried different pellets but havent found any that shoot decent. Its in 177 so maybe it the velocity is just too high. Any advice?

I have use 177, 20 and 22 and my hunting choice 22 , 177 is fast but some times has wind problems , also neads more ponching power for hunting, 20 is fast and has some good ponching pawer for hunting. but 22 is slow and heavier for a good hunting ponch ( depending on the tipe of pellets use ) that's way I like 22 Cal ( mi personal opinion and expirence over many year's ) your opinion is also accepted and that's ok

You need to trial as many different brand, weight and variety of pellets to get the perfect pellet for any rifle. I had to trial 30 different brands and weights to finally find the best suited most accurate pellet for one of my rifles.

I thought GAMO has these rated at 1300 FPS. Why are you getting around 1/2 that speed?
@ShootingGearReviews5 жыл бұрын
1300 FPS is with super light non led ammo. Besides 1300 fps in a break barrel is utterly useless because the pellet is not stable at that velocity. Slower speeds make them WAY more accurate. not too slow but not 1300 fps for sure. Also, FYI the high FPS claims made by the manufactures are just marketing hype to get people that dont know any better to buy the air rifle. Experienced airgunners know better ;)

Thank you for the explanation! Any recommendations for a subsonic air rifle?

I really like the Gamo Maxxim. If you want to get something with superior quality the new Sig ASP20 is something to consider for sure. It costs a little more but the quality and accuracy are awesome.

.177 does just fine with small animals like rabbits and such. My .177 happens to be more accurate than my 22. I hardly shoot my 22 anymore because the .177 does the job.

Anyone have trouble with the magazine kicking out pellets instead of loading them? It happens to my .177 in the middle of the magazine. Usually only 2 or 3 pellets.

The gamo rocket works better for me than the redfires with a 22 whisper fusion. Not by much but better. I think the rocket likes higher velocity.

can i ask something who is better all the gamo...maxxim magnum or wisper.
@richarde13554 жыл бұрын
at 14:05 "the .177 cal is a better suited for those of you who want to shoot cans..." I grew up in NE Nevada, and shot/killed many ground squirrels with my piston .177. My BSA .177 did the job on those little guys.

I ask this question everywhere and the responses are so varied it's confusing. If I want a scope to last as long as possible on my Breakbarrels Vantage .22 which broke a bugbuster and hammers block mount. How much $$ to you have to pay for reliability over time given the shock factor?

I have the .177 and i love it. Im using it to get rid of squirrels around my house. 1 shot and they are dead. The squirrels are destroying things and chewing up my gutters and trying to make a nest in my chimney.
@gabepettinicchio74544 жыл бұрын
Perhaps the weight difference & the .177 being a little heavier is because more steel material must be removed from the .22's larger diameter bore. Anyhow, wonderful job, as usual.
