pro tip: I'm terrified of spiders too but living alone in uni dorms got me to adapt. I usually immobilize the spider by spraying water or some liquid, making it easier for me to slide it somewhere outside my house and at this point I'd kill it. I heard killing spiders in your house leaves some sort of smell (?) and that attracts other spiders to live in the same place where you killed it.
