[Verse 1] This is the sound of a soul in tune To a savage desire for a soul made new It's a savage desire for a soul untamed A definitive cry in the present age [Pre-Chorus] Do I throw my clothes in the fire? Do I throw my hopes in the fire? Do those things grow in the fire Or burn just to keep me complying? Can you still show me the way? Can you still show me a light? 'Cause I was only a kid when I fell and you tossed me aside, hey [Chorus] What can I do if the fire goes out? 'Cause I don't know if I can live without [Verse 2] I wanna taste and see if the Lord is good I wanna know if I'm heard and if I'm understood See the savage desire is some stupid thing Or if having desire is summoned deep within [Pre-Chorus] Do I throw my clothes in the fire? Do I throw my hopes in the fire? Do those things grow in the fire Or burn just to keep me alive? Can you still show me the way? Can you still show me a light? 'Cause I was only a kid when I fell and you left me behind, oh [Instrumental break] [Chorus] What can I do if the fire goes out? 'Cause I don't know if I can live without

I was left behind by my parents when I was 17 but then I begged them to take me back because I love my family and I didn't want to be alone it was wrong because they didn't know how to treat me right they didn't know what I meant by wanting to come back they at least took me somewhere else where they were not around and I made friends but those friends did not last and it's an ongoing thing to make a life for myself at 63

Past the feelings of being discarded and towards the feeling of being what are you going to do when you see what it means to be discarded he is so true like me I see the truth and from what I said before the truth is that your truth is anchored in the soul of the parents that discarded you...elusive as where your mother is the day after she dies...

I feel like in the 80s or 90s this would have been very big. The band is verytalented. People just don't appreciate good music today sadly. They would rather listen to garbage than real musicians in 2018.

Like the altar of incense before the holy of holy‘s in the Jerusalem Temple, we are meant to smolder at all times. Flame burns bright, but it destroys the sweet smell of smoldering incense. Only the spirit can determine whether we burn or smolder. Your enemies may make you burn it as a martyr 1 time. The Holy Spirit would have you smolder every day of your life thru A prayerful existence.

i loved this song till i knew it was about god, no disrespect to believers but i think this song has a truth in life beyond god to me. like your passion or drive is your fire, when you lose it can it be reignited and can you find more drive or purpose. when i was younger i was more temperamental but learned to be more accommodating. i think that to conform is a misktake and you should find people that see your fire and watch it grow.
@emrachaelbell6 жыл бұрын
antixo - this has nothing to do with god. “It’s about empathy, finding humanness and trying to negotiate the sickness of soul as a millennial with no clue.” They have said in multiple interviews that this song is about trying to reignite your passion for something when you are lost.
@rse39466 жыл бұрын
fair enough, i just googled on fire and the result i got was when someone is going really good with the lord. glad to hear the song has aspects of what i thought it was about because it makes the song a lot more powerful to me and resonates with me also. thanks for the clarification.
