It comes from a re-enactment of the Passion of Christ performed in Manchester city centre on Good Friday 2006, using old songs from the 'madchester' music scene. Holds its own doesnt it? I love it!

Thanks for posting the video. Morrissey and James...I'll let others argue who is better; I feel fortunate that I've been able to hear so many of my favorite songs because of them.

Start at 2:14 and watch Tim Booth's acting and singing, it's very compelling. Full of pathos as he reflects in the garden of Gethsemane, knowing he's about to be betrayed and die. Had me convinced he was Jesus, definitely. It's a rehearsal for a Passion play/

Imagine the fear in this man's heart as he watched his sleeping friends and realized one would rat him out, he'd be hated betrayed spit on and condemned by "people who don't care if I live or die" - knowing his death would be horrendous, he also knows he'll go for it anyway, it's his destiny. yet the fear! you don't have to accept the story of the man Jesus to feel empathy and compassion for the whole situation - a man who only wanted to share his new ideas about love, then is killed by hate.

Im a Catholic I obviously am a believer, Jesus knowing that he was going to go through all that torment and pain is someone we all should look up to, (Im not trying to convert people) but just think about them days, and yet it still gets brought up now in films and songs, yes I like Morrissey doing it he is a genius with lyrics but his ego is to much for me, Tim from James doing it is good especially after Morrissey slagged James off in 1 of his songs (We hate it when our friends become successful) but hey ho thats Morrissey for ya..

You do realise that Tim booth is playing Judas,right? The song is him realising he's made a terrible mistake.

Tim Booth sings this from his heart, even though Morrissey slagged him and his band James off through 1 of his songs, you gotta give it to Tim for saying fuck him he has made out for so many years we are close and then we get a good single and Morrissey dont like it so he makes a song slagging us, sad man morrissey, but his early music was good, sour old grey dude..
@AndreaGomez-gj6xj7 жыл бұрын
In the early days Morrissey paid (!) so that James could support The Smiths
@rickywood23697 жыл бұрын
No just no, did Morrissey tell you that himself, or have you read his autobiographies, the end of the day Morrissey is a Diva he even ripped his own band off for millions, well him and Marr did, read Folklore James biography if you can afford it as its well expensive all the right info is in there, I easily believe what comes out of Tim's mouth rather than Morrissey's, but its up to you what you believe..

God is real. Jesus is real. His sacrificial death on the cross and the whipping and torture beforehand are real. If you believe in him and accept these truths with a repentant heart you will then be forgiven and be made anew. If you die unrepentant and refuse his gift of everlasting life in Heaven you are accepting the consequences of your sins on your own head for eternity.
