Benny hints at it at the 6:19 mark, but one of the best things to practice, in my opinion, is to play groove during the click and play a fill during the rest bar(s). 7 bars of groove+click and then 1 bar of fill+silence, or even 4+4 or something, is a great way of checking whether you rush fills (or perhaps even drag). And remember Benny's advice, keep breathing when you're playing a fill!

It works. I was slopper than most. Been using it for about 4 days and I'm noticing an improvement. I thought I'd never be a drummer. Tried for over 10 years. I was very bitter. I was focusing on the noise rather than the space. I'm not grooving yet but i reckon very shortly. Thanks Benny!

Just got the Gap Clivck today because of a Drumeo lesson that I am doing. Great idea, I look forward to using it starting tomorrow. Starting tomorrow, I will be embarking on a 30 day challenge to improve my timing. This took will be very useful in that process and I look forward to the next 30 days. Perhaps I will comment here again after the 30 days to update anyone interested in the progress. Thanks Benny for this most useful tool!

Looks like a very useful tool. My V-drums have a metronome with silent bars but it doesn't allow for different beat placement within a bar, and I like the idea of having the app anywhere to internalize a pattern.

I just got this. Thank god I found this tutorial. I’m learning Jazz guitar. Been playing blues & rock for 60+ years. Different rhythms give me such juice when I’m improvising. What I really want are more and longer examples of you playing drums WITH the Gap Click. Any thoughts on that ? Good to meet you Benny. This is Doc from Dallas. ✌️&❤️🤠

@jc3drums9163 жыл бұрын
One simple thing I like to practice with Gap Click is: set it to one measure of quarter notes, one measure of silence, then play singles or doubles, switching back and forth between two note values (8th notes and triplets, triplets and 16th notes, quarter note triplets and 8th notes, etc.) at the start of the silent measures. This will expose any lack of precision and consistency that would get covered up by a continuous click. Paradiddles would be good too, although quarter note triplet paradiddles require 4 measures before changing to 8th notes, if you want to avoid changing lead hands.

Hello @Benny Greb! Is it possible to make the different offbeat divisions available for the main click content instead of only the "gap" content? Often I enjoy playing with an offbeat 8th or second 16th note click for a main click, right now these divisions are only available for the gap. Thank you for the wonderful app and all the years of sharing your wonderful art with us!

@@bennygrebofficial To expand on this, new and future Huawei devices (and other Chinese brands) don't offer Google services, which means no Google Play Store. Making your app available in alternative stores such as F-Droid, 1Mobile, and Aptoide can help with this.
