Funny thing is that Kevin is also in the Austin Powers movie doing about the same dance moves during the opening credits...

why can't gap make commecials like this anymore? I like this because it's not about some celebrity or some product but it's just about high energy and cool dancing.

Cool as hell.

Kevin Stae. He's toured with Madonna, walked runway for CK, Tommy, Coultier, and was in "Naked Boys Singing" if you want to see...ahem...More of him :-P

I could watch this over and over again... does anybody have the GapKids commercial set to the Jingle Bells remix?? I miss that one and am desperately trying to find it!
@earnieyearnie66489 жыл бұрын
the gap commercials were fab. including this one. the orange/ fire red head girl (normally blonde) is lisa thompson, who was a Fly Girl for the last couple of seasons on ILC. she was my fave, lol. sorry j lo and carrie ann ;)

If Coca-Cola can bring back Surge cola, and Pepsi is on the fence about bringing back friggin' Crystal Pepsi (no kidding), then the Gap could and should be doing some new commercials like these again.

Brilliantly choreographed by the inimitable Alan Johnson; a long time collaborator with Mel Brooks, and re-stager for Jerome Robbins West Side Story.

The adorable guy in the center at the beginning is Kevin Stea, He was one of Madonna's infamous 'Blond Ambition' Vogue dancers, as well as the choreography assistant and dance team captain on that tour. He was also in the Robin Williams version of 'Birdcage.' Crazy how he's been popping up routinely in my favorite things over the last 30 years, and I didn't even realize who he was until the 'Truth or Dare' documentary came out recently.
@NiGHTSaturn2 жыл бұрын
Wasn’t he also in Austin Powers Goldmember?
@pollyolga12 жыл бұрын
Agreed re: the man in the center. Normally the women in any dance group hold my attention but in this ad, the man in the center has so much charisma and dance power that he is the only one I notice.

This kind of choreography was all the rage in the 60's and not ripped off any one particular individual. Those that think Fosse originated it need their heads examined!

Do bad the gap doesn't make commercials like this anymore. Now they rely on celebrities and telling us what is cool, insteaad of showing us what's cool.
@juvserr16 жыл бұрын
the ad is great - so many snobs on youtube - if the gap were smart (which they're not) they'd still be running this spot - def. their best.
