It is the day after this video was shot, and it will be 37℉ (Nearly 3℃) tomorrow. Very windy and cloudy though so it will be less warm than it could be - but I'll take it! As of today, there are two 40℉+ days in the 10-day forecast, so I should be able to get this ceiling done or at least most of the way by then. I can do the rest of the interior at my leisure then 😊

It will be sooooo nice when you get heat out there and don't have to worry about heat/cold anymore!

I agree. I envision working on bee hotels and things like that in the summer when it's way too hot as well. I hate dead time and this will put an end to that!

I will likely have to run to town for bracket material tonight, but I should have the furnace installed by the end of tomorrow!

Hi Mojo, nice video one step closer to having some well deserved heat, how do you intend getting the furnace up. Glad your temps are finally rising,the doggies will be pleased.

Hi Larry! Good question about the furnace. Firstly, I will use a step stool to get it up on the top of the scaffolding, and from there I will raise it with cribbing until it is very close. From there I can wedge and pry it into place. If I did not have the scaffold, I would have put planks between two ladders, then cribbed it from there. I like the scaffold better 😉

I just found this comment, and already replied to your comment on the video where I install the furnace. Sometimes YT is just too late with their notifications 😐

Unrelated question to the video, but how is your roof metal doing with condensation? My building is just a metal shell at this point, and every inch of metal has ice built up on the inside of the building
@PlanetMojo2 жыл бұрын
So-far, I have had no condensation or frost. The building has house wrap on the walls, and nothing on the ceiling. I have had condensation issues in the machine shop (no housewrap), but so-far no issues in this building. Our neighbor had a day last summer where their entire shed was drenched, and the same day I had some dampness, but nothing like theirs. It's possible all of the wood is soaking up the dampness and the housewrap definitely helps. Our Amish tin guys were adamant on the housewrap! I have a dehumidifier for the unconditioned spaces (not set up yet), and I plan to run it only when necessary.
@vulgarwoodworks2 жыл бұрын
@@PlanetMojo housewrap wasn't in the budget when I purchased the building (I now regret not saving a bit more). I don't have concrete yet, so the bare dirt with sub-freezing temps is probably to blame as well. Trying to formulate a solution without taking all the metal off to mitigate the moisture before framing and insulating
@PlanetMojo2 жыл бұрын
@@vulgarwoodworks The lack of concrete and the moisture barrier below it is a big part of the problem. Once that is installed there will be a big difference. Another thing that helps is to keep the doors closed on days when condensation is likely to form, and run a dehumidifier when the temperature allows.

I had Closure Strips and Drip Stop installed when my barn was being built -- plus house wrap on the walls. No condensation in my Western Wisconsin metal shell -- and I think its mostly due to the Drip Stop.
@PlanetMojo Жыл бұрын
@@atslastname5624 Is Drip Stop that felt-like material that absorbs the condensation and releases it to evaporation later? Several builders recommended a product like that for ceilings.
