Cool project ! I also work out of a 100 yr old single bay garage 🙄. I actually looking for a bigger space so I can start working on my 69 bay window bus. ( Just bought it)

If I lived out in the country, this would not be as big of an effort. I am fortunate that I got approval by my city for a variance to build what I wanted. I also found a good general contractor and am able to finance this as I go without a loan. Even still, building a structure in town is a big ordeal. If you have any questions about it, let me know. I wish you all the best with your garage and your new bus project! ✌️

congrats on the progress. i know some of those lifts have PSI requirements on the concrete they get mounted into... something to think about. Also, in terms of using the lift for maintenance, will it allow you to take the wheels off? I know some lifts will lift under the wheels and others will let you lift the car by the frame/body. Would be great to have the ability to do both so that you can do brake work and stuff! I'm sure you probably already thought about all this! Looking forward to following along.

The average garage slab foundation is 4-5 inches thick in the middle. 2-post lifts usually require 8" thick concrete for the anchors. Which is why it is common to cutout and repour the area the posts bolt to. 4-post lifts don't have that requirement since the 4 posts carry the stress evenly. But, like you said, 4 posts lifts aren't great for maintenance since the lifted car is still sitting on the wheels. You can buy insert jacks for a 4-post to get around that. For me, I plan on using the lift mostly for undercarriage access and vehicle storage; hence why I decided against a 2-post lift and the extra work to install it. Thanks for watching Frank! I hope you figured out that VCU problem; I'm looking forward to hearing about that on your channel. 🤘🏽👍🏽
