Excellent video my man. You touched on each product I’m considering and nailed all the things I think most of us all try to weigh. I saw $650 armorpoxy listed 1/2 off on the desert tan color about a month ago on Amazon but we waited too long and it’s now full price. (600sq feet). Even so you cleared up why many people had complaints on that product being short on several key items. I’m like you, why clutter up the details of a product package referencing cheap and common things. It looks like a 2 man job and some repetitive jobs to have the best outcome but I never have competent help, and find that in most things I can do usually are imperfect but “skilled professionals” usually do far less prep and anything but meticulous. Word of mouth and experience is my only solution to that, yet it’s still 50/50. Great video and details most men will truly appreciate. Cheers

Geeze grammar was never a strong point for me, but I will note my garage floor details. House built in 70’s and built above and beyond normal code, by someone far more driven, knowledgeable and meticulous. The house and 13 acres is better described as an estate with over 5k square feet and 6 bedrooms. It’s far more than needed but that’s beside the point. The garage floor is a 3 car garage with a smooth surface unlike the driveway with a far rough surface. The garage enclosed with one big overhead door and one standard size garage door. When it rains the floor in the garage gets wet by the humidity and temp fluctuation, which I never saw a way to resolve. My mindset was it’s wicking moisture through the concrete and they must have not used proper vapor barrier before the pour. it’s taken 8 years to have the epiphany that this is wet from a temperature difference, but when I say wet it’s like squeegee wet, and significant, only when it rains though. My mindset was paint or epoxy would not adhere after the next rain, or work for a while then fail, peel up. I realize it’s like condensation so a barrier on top would prevent this but would need to be a heavier coating. As it is now and always been it’s a bit treacherous to walk on the smooth wet concrete. Even simple things like dog food spilled has oils and those become like walking on ice. My need is to make a vapor barrier that is like an insulation barrier. I hope it works, and I’m sold on what to get now with your advice.

Thanks for your thoughts and kind words. I agree with what you said. For your situation, being an older slab, I mention toward the end of the video that older concrete may not take the acid etch. You could certainly try my acid etch instructions on a small area and see if you get results. Otherwise, plan on renting a flooring sander with diamond blades to etch the floor. As for your moisture issue; that seems to be just improper drainage. It may have settled over the years, or doesn't have a thick gravel base underneath, or maybe you need curtain drains or better gutters to weep water away from the slab... It could be something you could improve. But I also think the epoxy coating (if applied during some dry days) could be an effective moisture barrier to keep the water from seeping up from the slab. If it were me, though, I would try to figure out how to improve the drainage as well. Good luck; hope it all works out for you!

Thank you for this. I researched and narrowed it down to exactly the same combo or mpc 100 and mpc 275. This video basically gave me assurance that I'm on the right track. Do you think using 3 gallon polyaspartic top coat would have been better than 2 gallon?

An extra gallon of top coat would be ideal. My application was inconsistent, so it was thicker in some areas and thinner in others. If I had more, it would have been better. Good luck on your project!

It looks fantastic Scotty !!! I think you are being hard on yourself with that grade of C. I have used the box store kit in the past, it did not come with a clear top coat. Looked pretty good but not that durable. What size is your building again and are those 12 foot ceilings ?

Thanks! Yes, the ceiling height is 12'4 with 2x6 framing. The overall dimensions are 18x30. It was modelled from RV garage plans.
