Good ideas. I think if he makes another batch I will. Most of the work is already done for this batch.

Nice, just also try some self adhesive industrial carpet tiling as floor protection on the pads, makes a scratch free base and also means the rubber will not stick to the floor. If you get offcuts of non adhesive carpet the spray adhesive also sticks them down well. Get some longer runs of the non adhesive carpet and use it as a runner for the jack as well, those steel wheels will mar any epoxy other than the really tough industrial self levelling ones. Like the hearts Todd, nice work there.

Thanks again. That industrial carpet idea is great. I didn't think of that. I while have to watch the rubber and see if they stick and if they do I'll just switch to the carpet idea.

The rubber will stick, I know from experience, especially with new epoxy. The carpet also is easy to replace, and, provided you only use the jacks inside the garage, will not scratch the floor. Carpet and rubber makes a good non slip base, the carpet is easy to slide till you put mass on it to compress the carpet down so the rubber compresses evenly. The carpet will also work good as feet for the table, so it does not scratch the new flooring as you put it back into position after coating. If you cut strips and simply staple them to the side of the wood they make a good footing for it as well.

OK, you have convinced me. I haven't used the rubber yet and it was expansive, I'll take it back and get the industrial carpet squares. I hope I can get that at a local big box store.

Be careful with those jack stands if you ever use them on un level ground. The rubber mat will probably help with adding friction onto the ground, but the corners of the stand can no longer dig into the ground. I had a set of jack stands that had a flat metal piece welded to the bottom of them, and watched them slide out from under my car once. It was no big deal, no one was hurt, and we all laughed. Just something to watch out for.
