What an incredible build! Really. I like the mission statement on the website which tells it like it is. When I see this crashed E92 I don't understand how the owner could have just sold it off and not repaired it BUT I'm much more happy that our wonderful host on this channel took said engine out of that crashed E92 and used it for all of our benefit! THANK YOU! I have a 2002 330CI swapped out with the entire drive train and interior suspension etc from a 2006 M3 Competition. However even though the drive train has fairly low mileage as of now the Chassis has 68350 Miles on it and the Vanos has been done catless headers have been installed and It runs like a deer. (It's an old person thing sorry) the chassis which now has over about 250,000 Miles on it and a few more years of salt and mud (which I did the rear subframe plates and all of the bushings) is not happy. The previous owner had decided to Plasti Dip the car white a few years before I bought it. Having seen a few tiny bubbles in the paint before he did this he scratched the paint away down to the bare metal right at the rear quarter panel where it meets the lower half and left it. This was of course covered up by the plasti Dip so it wasn't even noticeable when I bought the car. One day I decided to remove the PD (which actually took me over a week to do because he had not put enough of it on to make it peel-able so I was in a PD he11 lol) it was then that I saw the now rusted area of the rear quarter panel. It wasn't too bad I thought and I didn't rush to fix it so it wasn't even looked at for two more years because I just did the cosmetic temp fix of filler, paint and clear. It was after I decided to fix it right that I now find myself facing bigger decisions about what to do next. I opened up that quarter and it had eaten away the entire insides of the car on that side so much that the quarter has a two foot by three inch hole in it and all the way into the trunk! So to make a long story longer I am thinking about putting all the great drive train into an E30 or well I just don''t know. So thank you for the great inspiring videos!!! I am very hopeful now! Sorry for the long boring comment.

I felt sorry for the US in the 90's, because you guys got an E36 M3 with basically a 328i engine in, nothing like the European E36 M3 with the early ones making just under 300bhp, and the later ones making 320bhp. This is a great project though, well done, and thank you for taking the time to document it.

I think you’re one of the first to actually successfully swap a N54 into a E36 with all the hassle of the wiring. I’ve seen a lot of threads online where people get caught up in the wiring and sell their projects. This is one of the first super documented swaps I’ve seen.
