@cakeeater23682 жыл бұрын
@@MoSec9 They don't respond to emails. If you contact them about an issue, expect to wait 1-2 weeks for a response, if you get one at all. They recently sold me flip down safeties that each had a pin welded at an angle, making them unusable. First, they took nearly a month to ship the safeties, even though they said they were in stock when I ordered. When I emailed them about the delay, took two weeks to get a response. When I received the safeties and saw they were defective, I emailed REP again.....this time, it took exactly a week to get a response. REP immediately refunded me without question and told me to, and I quote, "throw them away." Meaning, throw the safeties away. They were so messed up, REP didn't even want them returned. The way they responded led me to conclude they got a bad batch from China and they knew it and were selling them anyway, hoping people wouldn't complain and if they did, instant refund. They didn't even ask further questions or request additional photos (you can only provide one photo when contacting through REP's website). They just refunded instantly. It just seemed......shady? Whatever. My entire Gym is Rogue, EliteFTS and Kabuki. I will never buy another REP anything.

You can bench with spotter arms outside the rack and also have a friend stand inside the rack. You can do the same for incline so you don’t have to worry about the bench hitting the weight stack. As for low row, adjust the footplate out and sit on the bottom of a decline bench so you’re not on the floor. Provides a much better experience.

The bar connecting both sides for the low row is the banana clip. As I don't use bands, band pegs are unimportant. The expression on the Rep fitness guy's face when you told him the attachment sucks was hilarious. The system has a lot of small details that make the usability experience much nicer. You did not mention the price. The assembly part by Sam is quite important and I value his opinion. Unless you're getting the company to come to your house, assembly is all on you. In contrast Chinese products are renown for having terrible assembly instructions. Sam answers the question about just how hard is it to assemble this product. This is a complex rack with lots of moving parts, so I expect it to take a bit more time.

Hey coop thanks for saying it needs band pegs also to replace the rogue rhino just use a 4:1 snatch block two pulleys on top and two at the bottom with a hook , attach it next to a hanging chain and hook with the same strap method they’ve got for the rep belt squat that you made a video of from the top pull up bar using the rep belt squat, so even if you maxed out at with both stacks at a total of 310lbs it would still feel like only 77lbs to hook it , you could make it easier by making a foot loop if you run the cable of the top snatch block and loop it at the top of one of the pulleys going down then you just put your body weight on it with your foot on it. Next video i hope 🤞how to use the rep belf squat with Ares.

Or just keep the Rhino as a stand alone. What you're describing is far too much work and hassle to set up. I just want to throw plates on and do the work.
@Chandlerd172 жыл бұрын
Not much hassle you do it once and you’re set up is done for every other time .i just went into detail in case coop picked up the idea but basically step, hook ,hook in belt ,push off slightly and rep away its the same idea as rep has themselves for their belt squat but adjusted for Ares since it isn’t a plate loaded version witch means you can’t load plates at the top of the rep you have to preselect the weight from the bottom of the rep. it would however be light years easier to have a plate loaded version of Ares with its 6 termination points and just place a hook,load and rep away.maybe in the not so distant future.

First, let me say I love your reviews. You guys rock! Moving on to this review... This is a game changer and Rep seems to be doing a great job of stepping things up. I know from other reviews you've done that competitor attachments seem to fit with the PR-5000 as part of this setup. Will the Prime Prodigy attachments like their low row foot plate (which can really facilitate mid rows) and their lat pulldown seat work on the Rep PR-5000? Those are much better in my opinion for quick outside rack changes. Thoughts? thx
@nicolasbolland65702 жыл бұрын
Excellent review! Thanks Coop! Besides, I do not really see the point in the Ares equipment. Do not get me wrong it looks cool but... As Coop said, the functional trainer is the weak point of the system as not wide enough to do pec flys etc. So the functional trainer is not at par with a traditional moveable arm functional trainer (as said Coop). Then... if you put the functional trainer on the side it then becomes some kinda dual lat pull down so what is the point? Better have a 30 inch 4 post with a dedicated functional trainer with the space saved from the 2 additional uprights necessary to install the Ares or the Athena...
@danielxavier27012 жыл бұрын
Bro..instead of using the low row from the back...knowing that proper seated cable rows,the cable needs to be roughly chest height...so just do low rows from the front of the rack using one of the sides as you can adjust the handle height. If it's not heavy enough I'm sure there's a simple fix (attachment)for that.

Just to satisfy my curiosity I searched every 5000 series attachment and there were only two items out of stock (monolift and something else). Landmine in stock (1000, 4000 and 5000 series). I've been on the site a few times every month for the past year and have found very little out of stock, (at least the stuff I was considering) and if out was restocked pretty quickly

The stock is the pain point for me. I'm in Canada, and alot of the smaller items/accessories are always out of stock and for a LONG time. It's frustrating. I like to order everything at once and if one item is out of stock, it messes up my order. I can always go to Rogue and find what I need in stock. Rep needs to get the logistics figured out. Honestly, that's how you lose some business. And I'm referring to anything in general, if an item is out of stock, I will always look at competitors offerings, and in the long run, I will stick with one that's always readily available.

@@tbookou Historically, that stock will not be long. I purchased the 5000 series rack (93") had to wait 3 months for the chest dip attachment, 5 months after purchase the high/low pull was available, however the rear base stabilizer (rbs) was out of stock. It took about 9 months to get the setup I wanted. Not a big issue with the free shipment because you can order as it's available and you're not getting burned on all the shipping costs. Also, some items listed as available took 4 to 6 week just to ship.

@@tbookou I forget exactly where, it may have been a subreddit, where I found out this is a pretty common problem with REP. I should have also added that I like the products enough to deal with significant delays. It just something to consider with the company. Now I am waiting on the power barbell to be in stock.

Would love REP to expand to UK shipping! Any ideas when this might happen? Such great innovation

Thanks for the detailed review. Did you happen to ask the Rep folks why the weight stack is transverse to the cross braces? Seems that it would be more space efficient if the weights were in line with the cross braces.

Hey Coop, could you do a video going over different company racks to show what brand uprights are compatible to be able to go from a 4 post to a 6 post. Mainly to see how holes line up with each other

@Coop can you show us the ideal setup of Ares along with iso arms? Is that even possible!!!

I'm currently stuck between this and the ForceUSA 20 so I'd love to see them compared.

This is exactly what I am looking. But, I do not have room for it until my next house. Hopefully this thing is around in a few more years without any price hikes because I will come back looking for one. Nice work Rep, Coop, and the Garage Gym Reviews team

Will rogue crossmembers from the rml attach to the ares?
@markhalstead23862 жыл бұрын
No. Ares is only 41" wide and Rogue racks have 43" interior spacing. No guarrantee the crossmembers have the same cable holes. Also, heights are different.

it really makes sense for 6 posts rack or half rack. I would prefer this for a half rack for space saving. I am so tempted to sell my rack and functional trainer for this.
