I think the engineers of these truck manufacturers, know how to build a quality product. The problem is when the " bean-counters " get involved with final decisions.
@johnlowe221822 күн бұрын
@@craighamilton5206”bean counter” is a colloquial term for accountant, and these are the people who are always urging these companies to cut costs so they can increase profit margins.

I have a 2005 dodge Dakota with almost 300000 and by far the best truck I have ever had. The sludge issues were from conventional oil use. I only run Mobil one synthetic and no issues what so ever.

I don't know about other Rams but I have a '97 Ram 1500 with a 5.9 360 V8 auto with 303,900 miles on it so far and still going strong with the original engine and trans. I bought it in 2013 for $1600 and I've owned it for a little over 11 years and I've put 111,000 miles on it myself so far. As soon as I got it I put an external trans cooler on it and changed the trans fluid on time and so far it still shifts good. I don't think that the radiator trans cooler is enough to keep the trans fluid cool enough so it good to put an external trans cooler on them and they will last. I have a video of my truck running on my channel on here if you want to see it.
I have an 18 GMC Canyon V6 base model with 75,000 miles I drive daily. Still kicking

With the exception of a handful of models... Most of the trucks on this list are 10+ years old! All of the problem ones have already been junked, leaving the more reliable ones still functioning. I find it strange that of the GM/Ford joint transmission, only GM is being sued/recalled... But, Ford having the same issues isn't! 🤔

Even older trucks are not reliable, 1976 to 1979 Datsun pickup, prior to the king cab, they had issues that were expensive to fix with the A series engine due to poor bearings, cabs, and rust issues. Weak transmissions and clutches

I missed having a pickup but didn't like the looks of the newer models or the price tags. I found a 2010 Ford F-150 four wheel drive, big V-8 with 153k miles on it. I purchased an after market warranty that turned out to be worthless. One month after i bought it the engine went out and spent 16k with ford for a new engine. I also replaced everything under the hood at the same time. I now have 30k in the truck but have the truck i want and is paid for. The stereo was shot when i bought it so i paid $1100 for a new AM/FM, CD player with voice command GPS.
