Thanks Chris, I painted the truck with your video help. You have the best how to do vids out there. Your explanations are very good. The 1985 Toyota looks great. Very few issues, a little orange peel and a couple places of too light on the paint, so I sanded and repainted in my garage. Looks beautiful. Paint and clear. I have 2 small runs, I will fix easily. Theres this guy named Chris, he has a video on how to do it and shows it on a black truck! thanks for all the vids, keep them coming.. Thank you for your time and effort!!! Greatly appreciated.

Yet again another useful tutorial, I don't think many painters really like polishing so anything that makes it easier is always welcome, I normally use a rotary polisher as it cuts quicker but as you say it's easy to burn the paint but I find that providing you keep the polisher moving and make sure it rotates off the edge off the panel you should be ok. Thanks Chris👍

Thank's John, I perfer rotary for my first cut cause like you said it does cut better. I like to do my final polish with the orbital. Appreciate the comment and support!

@Garage Noise Get rid of the runs? C'mon man, thats like my signature! 😂🤣😉 In the handful of paint jobs I've done so far maybe 1 didn't have a run so this is super helpful. You actually pointed out what happened on our daughters auction car paint job, we tried to correct some runs with the razor method the next day and chunks came off!! 😶
@Green_gtw
@Green_gtw Жыл бұрын
Thanks for good video.learned something new. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻I had a heavy run last year during painting my front grill. Started to sand but would take time. Tried a razor blade. That blade was too flexible. Then saw one guy on youtube from England he used a utility knife razor blade (new) and put some masking tape at the edges to prevent deep scratches from blade. That technique worked perfect for that area. what i learned as DIY, different runs will require different approaches. Have to order those kowax blocks .

I only been doing body work for 3 weeks for a high-volume repair shop, there is around 900 cars or trucks at all times in are lot, well they fired 3 other body guys and I don't know what's going on. my buddy that's the painter told me this would happen; my guess is Monday there going to give me head of repair coordinator because the work repair estimates have been low in hours to be corrected to up to 200% book time. I am self-taught and my experience spreading mud has come from being a drywall finisher and being a mechanic for 20 years. I love this work maybe I can talk the boss into a post then a frame table. and channels like this has been most of my training thanks man.

@@PseudoKirby actually I left that place they were downsizing because of the market coming to an end they just flipped cars, I went to another body shop, and I get paid half of what I should get paid and its depressing the moods these people are in, my buddy works for a company that has multiple hundreds of body shops they own and I told him that's why toolboxes have wheels, he said he could get me in.

I've always liked the glazing putty technique myself do to the built in guidecoat effect. Cover the run with 2K glazing putty and sand until it's gone. The Eagle abrasives KOVAX system is the bomb.

Hey Chris! I continue to learn so much from your channel! I do have some questions. The DA you use looks like it's an Astro 3/32 DA. What DA would you recommend ? 3/32 or 3/16? both?Also when would you use an interface pad on a 3/32? Might be a good video to go over?

My biggest fear apart from dust, today I'm going to spray my first matte finnish... that method wont help 😬 Actually I don't think that anything will help when something goes wrong with matte clear coat, only sanding and respray. Or am I wrong and there is a way?
