Very informative. I like how you demonstrate taking note of weaknesses/habits in simple exercises and then watching for the same patterns in thebrest of training. So useful to have a coach who can see your strengths and weaknesses, or to be able to see them and feel them in yourself.

Still can’t figure out how any of this determines whether or not i’m “actually athletic”. Title is misleading; this just tells a coach a few individualized details about the athlete.

Not saying it's impossible, but you have to be very athletically gifted for D1 with no experience. D2, D3, NAIA, and JUCO would be fairly likely if you're dedicated enough though.

I once did a 405 squat for max followed by a 1235 2 mile, 87 pushups and 90 situps for ROTC. Sadly I'm snatching more than I ever have at 41 because it was never part of my college program. But i sure love slamming me some preworkout and dabbing before ripping shit off the ground.

Hey there Aaron can we connect on email or something? I'm currently transitioning into SnC as a career, eyeing middle school/HS coaching. Working on getting my CSCS (NSCA) but been always curious if a Kin degree has to be on the resume too cos I don't have one thus worried if that'd be a deal breaker. I can manage an associate degree (2-year program) but not planning on doing 4-year school again

At one time I feel I had elite athletic ability but could never put it together..bad shin splints and lack of focus on my part derailed me ..I'm 5'11" 215....at 21 yrs old Bench 415, squat 620, 40 yds 4.49 electronic, vertical 39.5 inches, hang clean 330, snatch 250, push jerk 330..best 100 m was 10.4..was still extremely flexible like a gymnast ...at 48 can still bench 350 and rep 315 lbs on squat about 10 times... I haven't really pushed myself in the other lifts or ran a timed 40 or tested vertical in years..but now I'm curious

The standard Presidential Physical Fitness Test . Does that even still exist?
@EvilestGem
@EvilestGem 2 жыл бұрын
I just want to state that not everyone can reach these levels of mobility, regardless of how much stretching, mobilization or anything else they may try, and I'd also like to point out that this is something the industry will either gloss over or attempt to make it out to be a client-centred issue that somehow needs to be addressed. It's simply not true. We are all built individually, and may be restricted in certain ways, so what you should be suggesting rather than try to 'fix' this so-called lack of mobility is to encourage people to adapt the exercise to suit THEIR body and THEIR mobility ranges.
@geoffkaminski
@geoffkaminski 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah everyone might not be able to achieve the same level of mobility as another, but every athlete should strive to become more mobile than they currently are, which is possible for everyone
@EvilestGem
@EvilestGem 2 жыл бұрын
@@geoffkaminski It all dependents on what you're trying to 'mobilize'. I would recommend that before starting any of this stuff you should do some proper research as it would save you a lot of time and money!
