Great video. Glad to see you promoting KBs. TBH I’ve thought that for awhile that for amateur athletes that have limited time they pack the most bang for your buck. Though I agree that Olympic lifting is superior for overall athlete development I’m glad to see someone with your pedigree promote their benefits for hip extension. I found the rhythm component interesting as well, calm down everyone 😂, for something like a swimmer doing butterfly or jeez even just a sprinter repeating their turn over this has big benefits. As a rugby guy I see KBs having a huge benefit, grip, explosion, hypertrophy, mobility, strength endurance, technical training (learning not to slam your wrist on swings takes technique)… for years due to shoulder injuries I couldn’t press over and overhead, the bells up version helped me work thru this. Thanks Dane!

Thanks 4 doing video. I have using the kettlebell for awhile & coaching youth football OL/DL. Never really occurred until your video, but Swings definitely simulate point of contact on run blocking with swing hips through the block. Single kettlebell curls on the GHD is great for OL to clamp strength inside. The entire video was for OL/DL since they have absorb & deliver force in 360 degrees space.

The first exercise demonstration was great,but I would respectfully add that the single leg RDL needs to be done with the offset leg to raise DYNAMIC BALANCE.👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

You should check out Pavel Tsatsouline book titled AXE. It is based in 1960s Anti Glycolytic Training. It is an excellent form of training As for Wrestling, the Russian Bear (Alexander Karelin) who went 887 and 2 in his career as a 6ft 3in 287lb Greco-Roman Wrestler trained with kettlebells. Karelin would take a 150lb kettlebell and do the terrible 10 which is 10 minutes of two hand swings without putting the kettlebell down. Russian Paratroopers are required to do the terrible 10 with a 32 kg (70lb) kettlebell.

Kettlebell training is for aerobic work, don't you think? Additionally, you can achieve a very good explosive strength workout with the kettlebell...what's your opinion? thanks

Lot of things to unpack here but if you take an average person who trains 20-30mins a day 3x a week and they work a desk job , sure it does the job …it can accomplish alot of general goals and add to some specific work …the average person who does jump or sprint or do OLY lifts doesn’t get a lot of explosiveness and kettlebells can fill some of that, technically not as explosive as a jump or a sprint or obviously a oly lift, in that order. BUT more explosive then a compound power lift by up to a couple thousand units newtons/KJ etc… close to jumps and like o said that’s good for an average person. Good for some STRENGHT and sub max power endurance work for fighters and does a good job and building STRENGHT in akward postions …also very efficient and versatile and fits in a corner in a room and then of course Soviet Olympic atheltes had plenty use for it in some cases conditioning and warm up work , Matt wenning uses them for conditioning as well …just depends were your head is at some avenges efolks are fine doing calisthenics with kettlebell work and seeing great results, without having the myopic lense of body building and specific muscle stimulation yet seeing great results being a generalist

Also cool you can hit some overhead extensions and bicep curls and do a lot of stuff with it it’s crazy. for say a D1 athlete it’s a good tool but of course not the meat and potatoes of their training …say you’re a das with no time to commute to the gym and no space for even a minimalist home gym kettle bell would keep you doing good even if you use it for conditioning and it’s not zone 2 per day cause you got no time to run, you still see good aerobic gains regardless but again context is king a das brining his RHR down 15-20bmp to say the low 50s but can achieve low 40s like a runner is A okay for general health and fitness etc but as always context is king

You can get what is called the Hungarian Core Blaster from Sorinex and load it up heavy to train the same triple extension Olympic Weightlifting training. You can do it safely though.

Kettlebell movements are very technical. maybe find someone with better form to demo them
