@jamesfisher84764 күн бұрын
I understand the point he is making. However I disagree. Muscular strength is the first building block. People who come out of comas are walked through exercises to build their strength back first because this allows them to do all the other types of movements.
@PeebeesPet4 күн бұрын
Right. Because most people have emaciated muscles like coma patients. Wake tf up girl.
@ithinkthereforeitalk9354 күн бұрын
No, endurance is way more important. You can have an ok strength and excellent endurance and you are golden. Or you can be super strong and bulky but have trouble moving your a*** upstairs and you are done. Can't be called a healthy individual, just a sack of meat unable to move his own body.
@thronarone94773 күн бұрын
Well, that’s not really a fair comparison. The equal analogy would be to compare having great endurance while being so weak that you can’t carry home a bag of groceries. Now, both of those extreme, hypocritical examples are not very realistic anyway.
@jamesfisher84763 күн бұрын
I understand it's an extreme example. But it is a realistic scenario where a patient has no endurance and no strength. The first exercises administered are strength building, and not endurance focused. However, the strengthen exercises also build the patients endurance, but that is secondary.

Very improtant question: what do you think about doing only sprints, pullups/rope climb and one arm over head press? Sprints 20m, 60m, 100m, 200m and 400m also in up hill variactions and chainging direction sprints? Cardio and all body is strong with this workout.
@ithinkthereforeitalk9354 күн бұрын
It's ok but if you want to have a truly functional body, you need to include running for an extended period of time. A steady 8/10 k run 2-3 times a week. Do not like running? Replace it with other low-heart aerobic activity like jump roping, cycling etc.

I'm curious if you'd be willing to look at rest and recovery again? As I've aged my training increasingly gets derailed by fatigue and minor injuries. I'm at and point where, regardless of whether I'm training for endurance sport, or strength, I can't push as hard for as long before systemic fatigue starts to cause changes in my mood, mental clarity and physicality. Have you experienced this? Are there other protocols aside from leveraging power lifting or bodybuilding's deload week? Would love to see what you have to say on the subject in 2025!

Hey Adam - your jump rope is too long! It's causing your arms to flail outwards and gives you unnecessary tension. Your arms should be relaxed and hovering around the hips. For that, you need a shorter rope. Check out Rushie at Rush Athletics for a perfect form example (no affiliation). Anyway, thanks for the great vid! Totally agree with the points made here.

Fitness inside your body is everything. Genetics, bloodflow, heart and lungs. Because without health, it doesnt matter how hard you train. Ive trained in weights, cardio the whole shebang for 40 yrs. Still had 3 heart attacks. Get yourself checked by a doctor especially after 30. Full blood check, heart and lungs, train to suit. The bigger you are, the more strain on the heart, and that takes its toll over time.

@8:10 Lets see how a powerlifter do in an ultramarathon? Ultra marathons aren't endurance based they're pain tolerance based, they're how long can you run on blisters and are you comfortable losing your toenails from the repetitive motion. With ultramarathon running injury isn't a possibility it's a requirement lol.

8:08 False equivalence. A powerlifter running a 50km+ marathon is _not_ the same as someone who squats 300 for 5 being able to squat 150 for 15 despite never going that high of reps before they could do the 300 for 5. Getting to 300 for 5 will definitely have caused the strength & hypertrophy adaptations to make 150 for 15 a breeze despite never going above the 5x5 strength program. THAT is what is being said, that you could do the *_same_* exercise for higher reps with less weight and so have more endurance.
