Am a trucker by career, a pilot as a hobby and motorcyclist. And I know a barbecue with motorcycle beats "$100" hamburger on a plane and truck stop hamburger. The scenery and the cost with fuel above$3.59, I'll do riding all day with barbecue. Good to see you riding again
@johngilbert10472 жыл бұрын
I watch a couple pilots that have channels here on the KZbins, and they often refer to the $100 cheeseburger. I was thinking as I rode back home yesterday that a 200 mile ride to lunch is better than a $100 cheeseburger. We get to soak up the scenery that the plane passes at 200mph and a mile above it all (the guys I follow have twin engines). I think we have it better. Great seeing you, the food was good, and the entire trip was worth taking.

I need to get back to Chimney Rock. I remember a trip many years ago and the roads were great near the state park. I go to BRP and other parts of Western NC at least once a year but need to make a point to detour from my main favorites, and now know where to eat! I live south of Atlanta so might make it a 2 day trip with a wider arch.

Nice video. I can't wait until spring arrives in Maryland. I have a 2018 Heritage Softail Classic in Vivid Black. I wish it was a 114 cubic inch rather than a 107 cubic inch. I did get a stage II upgrade last year, and it gave it more torque. Also did a lot of modifications to the bike--adding accessories to it to give it a look of its own. I love my bike. It's light and nimble for an older fella like me. My wife rides with me a lot. Happy riding!
@GARamblinMan Жыл бұрын
I’m an old fella too and I like the size and weight of my Heritage compared to the big touring motorcycles. I’m glad a went with the 114 but I’m not sure there’s that much difference. It’s a beast for sure. I get a lot of nice riding days here in Georgia in the winter but they can be few and far between sometimes. Hurry up Spring! Thanks for watching.

I love riding in the western NC mountains. So many good roads there and not too far from where I live. Have you ever ridden south out of Nashvillle on the Natchez Trace? I’ve heard varying opinions of that as a motorcycle route but I would like to try it some day.
@AnywhereRider2 жыл бұрын
@@GARamblinMan I’ve done about 50 miles and back on the trace. It’s a very nice but slow ride. It is well patrolled. There are no commercial vehicles but are a lot of bicyclists. Average speed is between 40-50. It’s pleasant, just not fast. And another downside is that GPS is almost of no value. They don’t seem to be programmed to recognize the route. But hey, I’d love to go down it in the springtime. Maybe over to Shiloh battlefield in Savannah TN

I see you got a Harley instead of an Indian. I took a ride from the Augusta area in Maine to Lubec I only took one break at a Dollar general to check my phone and I didn't even get off the bike. When I got to Lubec to get off the bike to have lunch it was like I just got on it I wasn't sore at all I have a driver's backrest. No riding fatigue whatsoever and I'm 64 I would have to take breaks when I was on the Indian don't know why but I'm really enjoying my new Suzuki C50T a lot lighter than the full size baggers. I don't need the big engines I don't ride on interstates I stay clear of them too many crazies LOL have fun and stay safe on your rides next summer. Looks like we have a northeaster coming this weekend fun fun...lol

Another great road trip vlog, love that area. My wife and I went to Chimney Rock in May 2021, we spent a week in that area of NC. We finished our clean up following Ian's impact this weekend. Our area of Central FL wasn't hit that hard about 15 inches of rain, some local flooding and a lot of wind and tree debris. I was able to get out on Sunday and got a short ride in. Stay Safe and we'll look forward to your next vlog.
