@Joshua Bressel SAS? I doubt it. The Republic of Ireland is a completely independent nation with no affiliation with the United Kingdom. If he was to serve with the British SAS, he'd have to have joined their military, which he has never claimed to do. The Irish Defense Forces' counter-terrorism unit is the Army Ranger Wing, so that's most likely what he was referencing.

I went to Basic Training at Ft. Leanordwood in the early 90's with a guy in my platoon who was a 30 something yr old former NCO in the Russian Army and an Afghan War veteran. Our Drill Sergeants treated him with the utmost respect except when they caught him during every inspection with vodka or beer in his locker. He didn't even bother hiding it. They just smoked him a bit, confiscated his booze, and left him alone though instead of giving him an article-15 like they normally would do. He was one of our squad leaders in the platoon and was quiet, but overall was a great leader, never complained, and was very competent. We called him "The Bear".

I was in the Regular Army for 14 years shooting Iron Sights before I went SF. My first ODA gave me a Red Dot. I was surgical with that shit. I went to Midsouth, (shoot school) made me even more lethal. My second deployment I used an ACOG, I thought that was the best thing ever made. 3rd deployment I used the EOTech, 4th deployment I went back to the ACOG, because using my PEQ, I was firing from the hip like John Wayne. Now that I’m retired making my lawn look the best in the neighborhood My AR sits in my closet half done… going to add a suppressor, and side mount a Red Dot. I like that idea. I’m running an EOTech with magnifier, (always keep rear flip up sight on my rail in case everything fails) Redi mag, I found an Israeli made butt stock FAB Defense GL-Mag that holds a 20 round mag. So I can always have 80 rounds when I had to walk to the shitter on the fire base. I use a fast release single point sling., mounted under the charging handle. I have to use a longer charging handle with the redi mag. I love the pistol grip that opens to a bipod, it’s lightweight and my light switch is mounted to it. I was an 18E so I’m not much of a Gun Geek. But it’s time to be formidable again. Happy hunting.

@seanoneill991
@seanoneill991 3 жыл бұрын
@@chrishooge3442 no.....don't even ask. most irish would rather their country unified as the british have prevented this for centuries. as an irish man, who immigrated to the US at 16 with friends, making the road to perm residency/citizenship would be nice though. do that, you'd be unlocking countless possible troops & i say that as a ranger vet of 14 years / 17 years total as i was with the 173rd before the 3/75 as i lacked the citizenship.

Just put together a 11.5 geissele super duty which I love but they are putting more money in accessories than I have in my rifle, just slap a $600 aimpoint on the side I'm sure it's nice but damn it's hard to put Aimpoints as your only optic . Maby I need to stick to just one AR instead of 8 kind of finished .

I watched it 3 times...I'm new to optics, but I was trying to find a "Vortex 1-10 LPVO" that the Irish guy mentioned to be his favorite rig "all day long". When I search for that name, I cannot seem to find a specific model. I found one that was called a "Razor" in the > $3k range, and I found some that were somewhere below $500, but do you know which specific model he was using?

bad info... that 11.5” 1-10 with T2 45 set up is a joke.. before the fan boy fuds say anything.. 11.5” only gains 24fps over 10.5” you can get that variation in different lot numbers and pointless further out. A 1-10 is way over kill for anything 0-500 especially in 5.56, the Vortex reticle obstructs partially exposed targets and prof the sheep will buy anything. Dot on 45 leaves you only running strong side and with a huge blind spot. Silencers produce much more flash then a good flash hider. All this is bullshit and can’t believe you guys eat it up..
