Pro Tip - For a clean as the day it came from the factory suppressor, with zero effort, use an ultrasonic cleaner. Great review and explanation of a Surefire Suppressor... I recently sent an older FA 556-212 back to Surefire for assessment from a baffle strike and from what they could determine it may have been due to a bad projectile/cartridge... ( Something beyond the manufacturer's control ) Within days of shipping out the can they advised they would be repairing my suppressor, and subsequently transformed my older can to brand new, all without charge. This is the type of customer service I have experienced over the years with Surefire and all of their products... ( mainly with the hand held and weapon mounted lights ) This is also what makes their products appealing, and promotes confidence when choosing an investment like one of their suppressors. Yet in my experience the little extra cost has been worth it in the long run... On a separate note, you may be able to help out that old injury, with a slight change in diet... I was encouraged by several doctor's to try a nutritional approach ( easier on my Liver and other organs ), which called for a big reduction in Carb:s , processed sugar's, and of course alcohol ... What was also encouraging, this change wasn't expensive or requiring visit's to a doctor... Several Doctor's have shared this information on their you tube video's ... DR. Eric Berg, Dr Annette Bosworth, and others that explain how to reduce inflammation ( usually the hidden cause behind the pain of an old injury ) Hope that will help, since it helped me...( I'm 64)

I was kind of zoned out as the vid was wrapping up, getting ready to pick out my next vid to watch and you started talking about health, and, that just hit me harder than anything anyone's said to me recently. I have an easy life but I go through phases where I loose control of my mental health, and although I can't always control that, I can control what I do with myself physically. I'm young and healthy and have the opportunity to do a whole lot, that I won't be able to later in life. And like, I stopped opening up about the stuff in my head because it always ends in the same way, basically getting told I need to fix myself, and, I can't, I do my best, and things get better, but the problems always comes back. But, it feels like for the first time someone gave some perspective that didn't feel like they were trying to blame me for where I've ended up, but instead a kind of reassurance that, at the vary least I'm still here and everything after that is a bonus, and, while my health is still good, there's still hope for new experiences and all that. Anyway, idk if you'll read this, and if you do, idk if it'll make any sense but. That short little monologue hit me hard, thanks for throwing that in, I definitely needed it

- Eons ago, at Benning airborne (airborne class 82-33, late July 82), on jump 4, a near-full-moon night drop with some wind, a buddy didn't get the wind drift right coming down. His PLF was heels-butt-back. He cracked a vertebrae, and got ambulance evac'd from DZ to hospital. Sent home on a C-9 medevac. He ultimately graduated from USAFA after rehab, not sure if he ever got his jump wings, but he did finish UPT and get his pilot wings. I'm sure that kind of lingering back injury got him a VA disability at separation. Be grateful for health and youth when you have it. Life is fleeting. The military takes the best years of your life. But I wouldn't trade those lessons or living for anything. Shoveling shit in Lousiana or helping bomb the F' out of Sadam in Desert Storm 1 and 2? Easy choice. - On a DMR-suppressed gun (I have a Sig 716 G2 .308 DMR with 762Ti-QD), if you're into reloading, then using faster burning powder can really help reduce night-visible flash and suppressed signature. Experimentation here is critical, a heavier .308 bullet (like Hornady's 178 gr ELD) with a slightly faster burning powder can greatly reduce signature (so powder is mostly all burned before bullet muzzle exit) and still put some serious sub-MOA groups out. Get a chronograph to make sure you are using only the amount of powder (grains) needed to get the consistent (extreme spread) group velocity. Use your cell phone to video record your gun muzzle flash at night. Put a light on the 100 yard target (so you can see it without nvgs) and shoot it through good glass. You'll be amazed at how just adjusting a hand loaded ammo powder load versus factory loads can reduce shooter's flash signature and still get good groups. - On the wet suppressor, it's simple physics. H2O is a molecular weight of 18 (2+16) grams/mole. Dry air is 79% nitrogen (N2=28), 21% oxygen (O2=32). So dry air is 0.79(28)+ 0.21(32) = 28.8 molecular weight. Adding water to the suppressor baffles, when the hot gas arrives, some of the water turns to steam-vapor (and cools the gun gas-hot air) and also decreases the molecular weight. Cooling and decreasing the molecular weight of the gun gas air reduces the sonic amplitude (as steam forms, reducing dry expansion).
